What can I say? I am unashamedly a #starwarsgeekandproud ‼️
I don't know if it was the fact that it was the first #scifi movie I can recall or that I was so young and so enamoured by it all or that my bestie across the road had ALL the toys and ALL the merch at 9yo. Whatever the reason, there's nothing I love more than some cheesy #starwars merch. The cheesier the better. It's the small things, amiright? What's the cheesiest merch you've picked up? I also have pens that speak #yoda and many #bobbleheads ...
This one a Christmas gift from my brother, it was. May the force be with him.
Have to say, I am very much looking forward to the new Ryan Reynolds Sci fi movie, The Adam Project, reminiscent of The Last Starfighter from my #childhooddays ... I just love where our imaginations can take us.
Do you have a secret or not so secret obsession to share? 🤔 Comment below 👇🏾
Wonderful day 4WD-ing at Bribie - fun with friends - swim in the ocean, walk on the beach, chilling on deckchairs. #lifeisgood
I know I mention it often, but the beach really is like therapy for me. Always puts things in perspective, the fresh, salty, beach wind blows away all the worries of the world. The constant waves, the epic-ness of the ocean, laughter with friends - simply soothes the soul. #gratefulheart
#2021recap What a year! Just when you thought ... the hits just kept coming! 😷🤒
It was another year like no other and I'm sure most are wrapped to see the end of it. But like most things there is good and bad and lots of change. That seems to be the only certainty these days ... the uncertainty. 🤷🏾♀️
Here's to 2022 finding us kinder, more empathetic of others, more flexible, adaptable, champions of change, and accepting of this ever-changing world and the communities we live in. 👯🏾♀️👯♂️
Notably, Oxford word of 2021, "Vax" - a relatively new term, but by September was used 72 times more than ever before. While dictionary.com #wordof2021 was more hopeful: "Allyship" (noun): the status or role of a person who advocates and actively works for the inclusion of a marginalised or politicised group in all areas of society, not as a member of that group but in solidarity with its struggle and point of view and under its leadership. That fills my heart with joy. 💖
And then the good old @macquariedictionary shows the #australianspirit with "Strollout":
Taking both the public's choice and judged award for only the second time, with the colloquial noun “referring to the rollout of the Covid-19 vaccination program in Australia, with reference to the perceived lack of speed”. Wow. That says it all really. Wishing all a safe and #happyny #happy2022 🎉

Wishing all the blessings of the season, connections with loved ones and a happy and safe New Year. It's been a struggle for most these last two years, but we are still here. Please take time to be kind to yourself and those in your daily life. 👯🏾♀️👯♂️
Remember what we've learnt: time is precious, life is always about change and we need to adapt in a fair and just way for all. ❤
We know there are enough resources to feed and house all on this planet, especially if we are wise with our resources. Hoping that governments, global conglomerates and philanthropists realise that in 2022 and do something about it. Here's to 2022 being filled with hope, love and peace for all. And some laughs. Laughter is always good. Stay safe and happy. 🥰💖

Checked out the #vangoghalive experience yesterday with dear friends. Interesting concept, that would have been more "immersive" if not as many people in at the same time (such a humid day in Brisbane, the air con was not cutting it with that number of people in the space) and perhaps if there were pods of recliner chairs to lay back and absorb the paintings, his quotes, the different periods, the music, his life.
But what a prolific #artist ... 2000 paintings in 10 years and viewing the difference in his use of colours and subjects throughout the different stages of his life was very special to see.
Tip: don't buy champers there - $22 per glass! Yikes! #artoftheday #brisbanecreatives #brisbaneanyday #vangogh #vangoghimmersiveexperience
On this #publicholiday in #brisbaneanyday I find myself reminiscing on my last fab long weekend away with the girls. 👯♀️💃🏾
How lucky I am to have such wonderful friends in my life and share such a long and precious history. ❤
And, oh, what fun we have! If #covid has taught us anything, it's how important connection is and reaching out to the ones you love and letting them know how truly important they are to you. #bffsforever
So, today, as I enjoy a day of self care with a sauna early this morning, then yoga, and lunch with my dear mum (#rinang 🇵🇬) by the ocean, I'm making time to also reflect on how very blessed I am. 🌺
With borders opening up, but life still so very uncertain ... I am grateful to have my friends and family, my home, my rescue cat, my health (to a degree), my job with a worthwhile NFP, my business, and less restrictions to be out in the world. Wherever this finds you, I hope you are safe and happy. Or at least have the potential to be happy. 😊
What are you doing this public holiday? Or if not in Bris ... what would you do? Would love to hear your thoughts in comments.👂

Ok ... some BIG news in hashtag land ... Instagram , namely www.instagram.com/creators have advised for the first time that 3-5 hashtags is now the optimum number of hastags to help you rank in search to basically be found ever on Insta. 🤔
So the previous commonly accepted practice of utilising all 30 hashtags to help with engagement mixing popular, niche but always relevant hashtags to your post seems be on the way out! Early days, of course, but it would seem the algorithm is changing (as always) and this new advice from IG is part of that. 🤞🏾
ALSO hashtags in captions rather than in comments. Another part of the ever changing algorithm. As with anything in social media world, always test and measure and see what works for you. Would be very interested to hear if you've noticed any changes yourself and how you're testing is going. I'll let you know my results also. Let's try this! 🙌🏾👊🏾👍🏾
