"While many are hopeful the vaccine will mean a complete return to “normal” life, Dale and I talk about why this won’t likely be the case if we want to stay safe and keep others safe. While the vaccine will help reduce the risk and severity of the disease, it doesn’t prevent us from becoming infected and passing it along to others. Spreading in this way could actually lead to accelerated growth if we don’t keep the virus in check. We discuss why now is not the time to stop all safety measures like mask wearing and hand-washing, which are actually important complements to the vaccines."

Dale Harrison and I discuss what we do know about COVID-19 and vaccines, what the future might look like, and what we still need to learn

RONA-Brain explained.

For those of us who have been experiencing Rona, this shows it not juts in our heads - but it kinda is.

A study shows that the coronavirus may remain in people’s brains after infection and trigger relapses in patients who thought they had recovered.

Episode 5 out now - of you have tachycardia, are struggling with exercise or other POTS symptoms, listen in to hear Lee's journey.

Lee is a physical therapist who has suffered from POTS most of her life.

Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) is a condition that affects blood flow. POTS causes the development of symptoms -- usually lightheadedness, fainting and an uncomfortable, rapid increase in heartbeat -- that come on when standing up from a reclining position and relieved by sitting or lying back down.

Many people who have had COVID19 are now affected by POTS symptoms.

The baby magpie we have been caring for went off on adventures for two nights, this week.
In one way I was relieved – that we had done our job and supported her enough to fly off and be independent, but in another I was worried. She usually has a couple of good days and then is worn out for a few. So I was concerned she would get tired far away from safety.

However yesterday morning I saw her on my way to drop my daughter at school. She was on an electricity wire going across my road, a few houses away.

She saw me through my car windscreen just as I saw her.
I stopped the car & got out… she excitedly flew down and headed towards a nearby fence, just as a mother with two young children was walking past.

Startled by a magpie flying over her children the mother turned around & swung at my beloved bird with a metal rod.

I yelled out “No she’s fine, she won’t hurt you!”

Thankfully the bird was not hit and the woman quickly saw that she was friendly and meant no harm to her or her children, as my little friend greeted me and followed me back to my house.

Now while I completely understand a mother’s instinct to protect her children, the woman’s lack of knowledge over when and why a small number of magpies swoop, nearly caused a great deal of damage to an innocent young magpie.

Ignorance is often the cause of harm. Lack of empathy and understanding contributes to insensitive comments and harmful actions.
Like my little magpie friend, many people suffering the ongoing symptoms of corona virus and post COVID syndrome are faced with prejudice, lack of support and often harmful comments by their loved ones, doctors and employers.

Thoughts on what might cause "Rona brain"

Doctors are struggling to treat patients with neurological changes due to COVID-19 and researchers are scrambling to figure out why it’s happening.

11/12/2020

Its hard for me to share this video for a number or reasons.
But part of the reason I am doing this podcast is to show people the reality of this virus.

There are people in my life who do not beleive I had COVID, and that has kept me from sharing my story openly, for months. I was not eligible for testing when I was sick - even when I was in the COVID section of Emergency. Community transmission was not being tracked or even taken seriously back then.

THis video was sent to one of my heath care practitioners the day after I was in hospital - after a week of stroke & heart attack-like symtoms (hospital test & scans showed it was not a stroke or heart attack).

Just before recording this I had collapsed on the floor - everything went black, my legs gave way & then all I could see was sparkles. I was unable to get up, I couldn't stop shaking.

My eldest daughter found me on the floor & was able to help me get to my bed & give me what I needed to calm the symptoms down.

The neurological damage is still present - slight numbness in my left side, short term memory loss & brain fog (though its more empty brain than foggy).

But I am soooo much better. And keep getting better every day - as long as I continue to work my mind, then rest.
Doing this podcast is pushing my brain capacity - in a good way, I feel its part of my brain rehab.
