WOMEN

In this life we women are many things,
mothers, sisters, wives, friends, carers.

We are creators,
we are nurture,
we are home.

But above all,
we women are the magic.
We are the intuition.

We are the product of generations,
who fought to be heard,
to be believed,
to be empowered.
And that runs very deep.

When women come together, magic happens my friend.
And those who tell you otherwise are afraid.
We are not.
So come together in all your glory today and every day.

Because you can,
because you must,
because you are called by deep-seated ancestry to do so.

And because, most of all, we hold up half the sky,
and our half must show the other
how to be.

Filming a funeral and recording the special memories of someone’s life is never an easy task. But it is a role I take incredibly seriously and I feel honoured to be able to undertake this important task for families paying tribute to their loved one.

Words spoken at a funeral are filled with vulnerable intensity. Tears flow and love fills the room.

It’s in these moments that the most beautiful and tender words are spilled out of broken hearts.

Recording these words to recollect during the long process of healing is where these memorial videos are not just memories, but tools to assist healing.

I always feel privileged to be able to be the creator of these healing tools for love and grief.

To show these broken hearted souls that in their most darkest days they spoke from their heart with truth and vulnerability, and honoured the one they loved.

🎥💪 Never underestimate the women working behind the screen.

Thelma Schoonmaker is the genius female film editor who has worked on all of Martin Scorsese’s films from “Who’s That Knocking at My Door” to “Raging Bull,” over 50 years of editing! Oftentimes the women who are working behind the scenes of film and TV are forgotten, but Thelma let everyone know that it was her contributions that made these films possible.

4 years ago, on November 15th, the results came through for the plebiscite on marriage equality in Australia.

This retrospective documentary goes back to that time and follows the thoughts and feelings of a family during this emotional campaign. It also encompasses the reaction of the final vote and the continuation of a love story between Joshua and Arion.

It’s important to reflect on these times as growth and realise the power of unified voices that come together for collective social change, that healing can take place and that Love will always find a way.

Live theatre filming is always exciting. There’s something special about filming and holding up performers by recording them in the height of their moment in the light. Ensuring the sound is perfect and framed and in focus.

Watching and waiting for new things to suddenly happen is both stressful and exhilarating especially when it’s all sung in German and you have no idea what’s happening, as is the way with Opera that’s named Die Zauberflöte!

But I do know my camera and it’s good when I can troubleshoot issues and solve the problems and it all come together to be able to have a successful shoot.

Now comes the next part of editing it into a beautiful video for the performers to enjoy, for them to feel empowered by their wonderful performances and see for themselves just how great they are.

Video is King, so some people say. But I much prefer thinking that video is more of a Queen.

Queen's are elegant and stand out from the crowd. They are unpretentious and uphold themselves with a purpose to serve the people and help them prosper.

I love creating videos with the intention of a Queen. I also like to stand out from the crowd.

When I was younger, I feared this aspect about myself but now I have learnt to embrace it. Creative quirks and all.

It is this passion and uniqueness that I use to create for my clients to empower them to embrace their own aspects that help them stand out from the crowd.

I will be launching my brand new website this week on the 05/05 {insert happy dance}.

I’m so excited to launch my new media production business and watch it flourish. It’s been a journey to get here but I know that empowering myself with knowledge and life experience will benefit others and I’m so happy to unfurl and thrive and help others to as well with impactful media creation and media advise to grow.

In the meantime I will be putting all the finishing touches ready to share with you all real soon. 💛

It takes time to grow as a business. It especially takes time to grow into the beautiful human you are meant to be.

I’ve taken time out to do both of these important tasks. Concentrating my time and thoughts into how I can honour my drive to assist others in growing.

But first I had to honour myself into growing first. To shed those self limiting beliefs and to remind myself who I am and where I’ve come from.

Growing is a constant state of shifting. Letting the old ways go to embrace new ways. That’s empowerment.

So I’ve been creating and building a website ready to launch into the world of empowering others to be their best selves in business and life.

I think it’s important to acknowledge growth in ourselves and others. To respect our need for rest and rejuvenation. We all have cycles but if we maintain our belief that we are meant to shine, then we will indeed keep shining.
