21/01/2022

Long time no post my Geeky friends.
I apologies for that. Things are changing and new exciting stuff is happening with the Geek Guide. You'll be hearing from us on the regular again real soon.

In the meantime I just had to point out that GenghisCon is running over friday and the weekend. It's one of WA's smallest geeky conventions. it's usually packed full of interesting panels, gaming (both board and video), and tons of various other activities. With full weekend tickets from $25 it's hard to beat.

This year it is being held at the BSRC Belmont Sports and Recreation Club so it looks like it's fully air-conditioned.
You will have to mask up as it's an indoor venue but for a geeky weekend out it's a fun option.

Greetings one and all!
Welcome to Weekly Geekery.

This evening GenghisCon Perth is running a laser tag fundraiser event this evening at Lazer Blaze. Get some pew pew action while supporting one of your local small convention. Win win!

Running over Saturday and Sunday is the much awaited Kaiga Anime Convention. Packed to the brim with Cosplay, Idol Performances, Artists Stalls, Arcade Games and sooo much more. I'm expecting this is going to be super popular so you might want to see if tickets are still available online as the line at the door could well be sizable.

Entertaind Presents: Little Shop of Horrors. Showing at the Regal Theatre tonight and for two sessions tomorrow. If you were a fan of the original movie or if you just enjoy the idea of a foul-mouthed carnivorous plant intent on world domination then you should give this one a look.

Sunday from 9:30 the Collector Zone Toy & Hobby Fair is happening at the ECU Sport & Fitness Centre in Joondalup. The Fair is always a good place to find nifty stuff for yourself or your favorite geek. If you do the whole gifting thing in December this is a great place to find a treasure trove of nifty geeky collectables awesome stuff.

Check out our events page for other stuff on around WA and feel free to let us know if you have any geeky events coming up that we can share.

Have fun, go forth and get your geek on 🖖

A Pop up artist alley has been quickly organised to run over Saturday and Sunday at the Perth city market (opposite city beach on Murray Street).
A pile of artists who were due to exhibit at Supanova will be heading there to tempt you with their wears.
In all seriousness though conventions are both a large cost and a large source of income for indipendant artists so this postponement (possible cancellation) will have hit them hard. If you have a chance you should go and show them your support, it will totally count towards your superhero points total.
Link to the event page is in the comments.
