Charter Hall uses an effective, evidenced-based and multi-stage approach to produce game-changing innovations. Their decision making is informed by the pain points of their customers, they use cross-functional 'squads' to develop their innovation approach with multiple viewpoints, they learn from their mistakes and do not punish reasonable risk-taking behaviour, they get constant input from key stakeholders, and they test and iterate their innovations through pilot programs. This approach was used to create Autom8, an industry-first digital solution to collect monthly sales from their retail retail tenant customers.

Congratulations to Advanced Navigation for their innovation – Hydrus

Underwater data capture is typically expensive (running into the millions), requires large vessels, complex machinery, qualified crew and often puts divers at risk. Advanced Navigation have revolutionised both AI robotics and underwater data capture technology through the development of Hydrus, a fully autonomous submersible drone. The design of Hydrus synthesises numerous cutting edge navigational and data capture technologies with sophisticated artificial neural network intelligence. Hydrus can undertake missions of up to 3 hours, with a range of 9km, and has reduced underwater data capture expenditure by 70% for their customers.

Our next special award winner is AgriProve who have taken out the Best Service Innovation for their innovation ‘Soil Carbon Sequestration at Scale’ This award is presented to the organisation who received the highest score for a service innovation.

AgriProve's Soil Carbon Sequestration at Scale allows farmers to be part of the climate solution by giving them access to carbon credits from soil carbon projects. By utilising satellite data to monitor projects and advanced soil measurement technologies, AgriProve has been able to remove the complexity and administrative burden that previously stopped farmers accessing carbon credits. AgriProve has become the international market leader in soil carbon projects and expects to deliver 3 million carbon credits to farmers by 2030.

Congratulations to Special Group New Zealand for their innovation - ‘Meddle in the New Zealand Election’

Special Group produced the creative marketing campaign "Meddle in the New Zealand Election" to provocatively incite overseas Kiwis to vote. A provocative Russian spokesperson/meddler named Viktor, infiltrated social networks as voting opened with a campaign on Facebook and Instagram urging overseas Kiwis to "meddle in the New Zealand election". New Zealand saw a rise of 24% in overseas enrolments and 50% rise of upload of votes for its 2020 election.

King & Wood Mallesons' LegalTech Belts Program is an industry-first, micro-credentialling digital literacy program, codifying the competency levels of lawyers in the practical application of technology tools in legal work. LegalTech Belts are awarded following a proficiency assessment, with 4 levels to be attained and digital badges issued to be shared on LinkedIn’s “Licenses and Certification,” where KWM provides 30 billable equivalent hours per lawyer, per year to engage with the program, upskill and identify efficiency opportunities. Digitally enabled lawyers reduced deal finalisation times by 57% and reduced verification times by 47%, demonstrating meaningful client impact through a new way of working.
