Why do you hold yourself back?
Don’t worry, we all do it.
But why do you do that?

Shame?
Guilt?
Is it fear?
Fear of failure - or is it the fear of success?

Whatever it is, it’s learned behaviour.
Its conditioning.
Your mind has been trained to avoid doing certain things.

And usually, those things, the ones that you’re afraid of doing, the ones that you avoid, they’re the things that will change every part of your world.

Where did it all come from though?

An event.
Maybe.

Something you observed.
Maybe.

Something you heard.
Maybe.

Something shaped your mind. It implanted itself in your being and it formed a belief. A belief that is holding you back. A limiting belief.

What if those beliefs, which were once relevant once-upon-a-time, which most likely were installed to protect you - from the disappointment of failure, or from being hurt, or from whatever else - are no longer needed.

What if those beliefs smear your actions?

Why is it that two people going for the same goal, using the same process, can have such wildly different outcomes?

It’s not the things you’re doing, it’s not the process that’s broken, but it’s who you are when you do it, when you follow the process.

When you carry around the baggage of the past, it changes your vibration. It changes your energy.

What if...

What if those limiting beliefs are wrong?
They are.

What if you’ve held yourself back from living your true fullness?
You have.

What if you were so much more powerful and deserving than you’ve ever believed?
You are.

What if you could time travel?

What if you were given a magic wand, and although you couldn’t change the events of the past, you could change the meaning of those events?

What if you could remove the sting of an insult - that cut deeper than you ever thought possible, or the hurt of an ended relationship - that didn’t serve you anyway, the shame, the guilt, all of it.

What if you could change the impact of all of these negativities?

You could fundamentally change who you are.

I’m not a big fan of the whole “Grind til you drop” idea of work. It takes too much energy leaving nothing left for yourself or family.
HOWEVER, working with intensity takes care of that in between area, the best of both worlds.
Work with a sense of urgency. Make progress. Get that feeling of friction or fulfilment.
Then be with your friends and family.

Yep, that small hobbit.
The underdog.
It wasn’t Strider.
Or Legolas.
Or the dwarf.

It was Frodo.

The most unlikely of them all.
But the others all guided him.
They encouraged him.
They taught him.

Knowing HOW something works, HOW to do something doesn’t make a damn difference unless you actually put the knowledge to use and DO what needs to be done.

You know what nearly all of us don’t do enough of?
Stopping.
We don’t stop to collect ourselves, centre ourselves, to breathe.
With all of the go go GO! We don’t pause to consider the situation, we don’t think the best solution through. We just GO!
We react instead of reacting appropriately, strategically, optimally.
Stopping to breathe gives you a chance to consider the best response instead of that program or reflex that wants to automatically fire off.
Where do those responses come from? They’re our conditioning over the years, they’re based on beliefs and limited/distorted/filtered information.
The key thing here is that if you stop to breathe, you calm that stress response - you know the one, it’s sitting there driving you leave blood pressure up daily - just because we’re living in 2021.
As you calm the stress response, you’re able to make more considered decisions... which nearly always leads to better outcomes.
Stop.
Breathe.

If not for your family, who are you doing all this for?
And while you are doing ‘all of this’ for your family, to be the provider and all of that, are you actually spending any time with them? Are you forging deep, loving relationships with each of your kids a d your partner?
I recently realised that I haven’t been having as much one-on-one time with my kids as I think I should.
We love each other, no doubt about that, but if we have that one-on-one time together, our individual relationships will be that much deeper.
Hopefully that will mean when the interesting times come up when they’re teenagers and young adults, they’ll come to me, they’ll communicate, and we’ll be able to tackle it together.
Providing is great, and really, essential.
But connecting is what I’m REALLY after.
Starting this week, I’m taking my kids out for a some alone time. Time to give those relationships the attention that they deserve.

Your OWN rituals.
Habits are the things we do without thinking and they can change your entire world. Little changes, BIG chain reactions.

Rituals are different. But the same.
Similar in that, small rituals can make huge changes.
Different in that these are routines, actions, processes that you don’t just do without thinking, you do these ones Consciously, Thoughtfully, with Consideration, and with Purpose.

Design your rituals, treat them with a sense of ceremony, they’re a time to nurture your Meat Suit, Driver and/or Observer. They’re a time to build yourself up, create a stronger, more robust, resilient, connected, impactful, independent, connected King/Warrior/Magician/Lover
