Client Spotlight #2

Established in March 2011, Cafe Four is an Albion Park-based cafe and the winner of the Self-Titled by Taylor Website Development & Design Giveaway.

Throughout its decade of operation, the business had never had a website to accompany its social media presence, and was therefore looking for something simple and easy to maintain which represented its brand and showcased its range of offerings. In response, I created a five-page, mobile-optimised website which highlights the cafe’s menu and purpose, accompanied by a gallery of select product images.

While the simple layout promotes speed and ease of navigation, the design – consistent with Cafe Four’s existing branding – complements its Facebook and Instagram channels to promote cohesion across the brand’s online presence. The bold and contrasting colours also ensure readability to best cater to all website visitors.

Client Spotlight #1

Listen Loud is an Australian music blog based in Wollongong, NSW which features up-and-coming artists in the punk, rock and alternative scene.

To prepare for their initial launch in July 2020, I designed the Listen Loud website around the existing brand guide to reflect their edgy yet minimalistic style. As a blog, the layout was quite simple with a focus on ease of navigation and loading speed, so the only pages included were About, Blog, Merch and Contact. With the majority of Listen Loud’s audience primarily accessing the internet via mobile devices, the site was optimised for both mobile viewing and SEO, and continues to be updated regularly.

I was also responsible for the establishment and ongoing management of the brand’s social media presence across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn, including all content creation, copywriting and scheduling. Each platform features the same username for easy identification and consistency, and is styled in line with the existing brand guide so as to seamlessly integrate each social platform with the website. Links to each site were also embedded into the Listen Loud website to drive traffic between each source, and promoted across each platform via a .ee link.
