Running a business in Melbourne is hard work so when your doing something, you need to do it right from the start!

It is important to take the time to focus on the words you are using when marketing your business on social media and ofcourse the internet as a whole.

The algorithm can be tough but don't give up! Remember social media marketing is just one part of your business marketing as a whole.

I have a confession to make. I have left it so long I am overthinking it and feeling pretty anxious about it. 😬

⏰ It has been a very long time since I have posted anything onto my feed.
At first it was “Oh I am just busy, I will get to it later”
And then turned into “OK…so what should I actually post?”

😱 What is worse, is I am working with clients telling them it is important to keep active and consistent with your content on social media but I can’t seem to listen to my own advice.
Surely I am not alone?

🤹‍♀️ I am working several days a week and juggling family, health and all, just like many of us. It took me a while to realise I am more than likely not alone in these feelings. (I hope?)
📸 I don’t always want to get on camera. As a creative person using visuals to story tell I often feel like I need a break, which of course, is when it comes time to plan posts for myself.
🎞️ I love filming and taking photos of my clients to showcase their business but feel like I can’t always do the same with myself.

I never do this but I decided to share something personal with you.

The emotional changes as an entrepreneur is crazy!

I spoke to a few other business owners and realised everyone has these moments and it is always our clients/customers that bring back our joy. Thank you!

When your mind goes down that rabbit hole it can be difficult to get yourself out of it. However when you know your WHY and reminded by the WHO that you're doing great you immediately snap out of it.

My WHY isn't to be insta famous and go viral.
My WHY is to help business owners grow their brand awareness and be the next big thing! To kick goals and then some. To reach stages of their business they dreamt about.

My WHO are the dreamers. The people who have big goals and the hunger to achieve them.

Although Hashtags are slowly being phased out as Instagram now has 'Add Topics' and is picking up the words used in your caption & images it is important to know there is a list of hashtags which are banned.

This list may extend in 2023 so keep your eye out - on google. I am not taking the risk of getting blocked out of my account sorry but not sorry.

Back in 2021 Instagram was all about the perfectly patterned grid with the beautiful pictures looking a little like a Pinterest board.

In 2022 it is about,
The VALUE of each post. ✅
The engagement. ✅
The response. ✅
The SALES! ✅ ✅ ✅ ✅ ✅ ✅

Yes absolutely your posts need to have a connection to each other, a consistency of brand colours, fonts and language. You want people scrolling their feed and know before looking at the account name it is your post.

Use a brand like Harley Davidson for example you know immediately the colours, the tone of pictures and the style of posts they would do, even if you don't follow them. Guess what, not every post is motorbikes. They post merchandise too!
🤯 Mind blown?

➡️ This is brand consistency and a company that does not ignore aspects of the business that generate sales.

Why am I saying this?
I have personally experienced visiting a business who have so much more to offer than what they project on Instagram.

As a social media manager this actually makes me sad because I know this business could easily double their sales with the right strategy in place.

There is more to growth than posting a picture and fun Reels.

🤯 Don't worry you are not doomed, there are several ways to still grow your Instagram. First save this post.

You must have the right strategy behind what you post. This is the most important part!

➡️ Your strategy should include things like;
Being clear about who/what your brand is.
Knowing who your dream clients are and how they speak. Providing THEM value.
Directing viewers to where you want them to go, eg DM/Link in bio?
Showing up and socialising, letting people know you are here!

When you start to think more about why you are posting everything becomes more clear for you and your viewers.

I honestly got a little emotional seeing this review from Sean.
I love what I do and feel so great when my clients, present and past see the value in what I do for them.

Sean asked me to manage his business account and surprised us both when a week later he left on a secret trip - which is now public - starring in Heartbreak Island. I know for many of you this may not be a big deal but for me it is.
I had a goal to reach 1K by December 2022 and I actually achieved this in July 💃

🏃‍♀️ I started before I was ready.

📆 I started knowing I only had two days a week to completely dedicate myself to my biz as I raise two preschoolers.

💭 I started knowing I had a long time before I could set myself up the way I dreamed of.

Regardless of my obstacles, regardless of my limitations I started.

Getting my books ready for my accountant I was able to see my business growth which was so exciting!
