Announcement: Time for me to walk amongst the flowers, explore alleyways and ascend to new heights.

I've decided to go all the way with my personal reset, and it's working. With a sense of having the same goals as always, but needing to strike out anew.

I'll keep my head in the sand awhile longer, almost literally as I spend my days at the beautiful, productive and hardworking farm. Dirt-engrained fingernails are good for this greenie. I'm still reading the papers (reluctantly), taking part in volunteer PR work for good causes, and following my clients' business journeys. Thanks everyone!

And can someone please tell me why no one seems to photograph the stunning red soil at ??

Trying out new linocut bits...and coffee on a micro scale! This 4.5cm rubbery stamp makes for tricky detailing. However, I'm quite enjoying the positive/negative design logic favoured by this medium.

Hello business friends, I'll be going for a change of scenery from mid-July to mid-August.

What does this mean for you? If you have a photo/communications task on your horizon which you'd like sooner than later, now is the time to enquire! I might be able to find a spot prior.

During my semi-retreat, I will be mostly unavailable for physical appointments, with limited time for remote tasks. Scheduled ongoing work will be unaffected.

Happy Winter! Dare I say it? 🥶

Such a delight to shoot Genevieve Frew for her acting headshots recently, in a light-filled space with scenarios from executive to cheering football mum. A fast-paced lady who 'knows where she's going.'

BEHIND THE FACE

Genevieve grew up in the theatre and had her first lead role at just 16. She then trained and graduated as an actor at the Ensemble Studios in Sydney, under Hayes Gordon AO OBE. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and English from the University of NSW. Originally from Sydney, she lived in Melbourne from 2005 until moving to the Huon Valley in 2021.

Genevieve has performed in theatre in Australia and New Zealand, as well as in television, commercials and short films. She has also worked as a theatre publicist for a repertory theatre and theatre school.

Since 2006 she has been working constantly in role-plays for the education and assessment of the medical and legal professions throughout Victoria and Tasmania.

She loves to travel the world and write about it, would love to have been a stunt driver, and loathes drive-through restaurants.
Personal quote: 'My life has been relatively charmed, joyful and full of hope. Or at least, that’s how I prefer to see it.'

👏 Thank you Genevieve!

This was an interesting read with the recent Women's Day theme. A 30 year narrative of a career in cinematography.

This week we're continuing to celebrate International Women's Day with trailblazing Director of Photography Carolyn Constantine ACS, the first woman elected NSW Brand President of the Australian Cinematographers Society.

Beginning her career in the late 1980's Carolyn has witnessed and experiences the slow-shifting perceptions towards women in the industry.

“I've been in the industry for 30 years and I feel like there's been a shift in the last two years. I’ve finally been given the chance to show what I can do and come into the limelight. I think the change happened in the Australian industry after the movement which has helped raised the industry’s consciousness.

Slowly, there has been a slight shift where some projects are looking for female DPs or creating opportunities for female DPs. But I'm hoping that it's not just that; women should be considered for projects because we are highly skilled and creative, not only because we're females.

We might have all had the same amount of knowledge, but we didn't all have the same amount of opportunity.”

Thank you Kerry for the teamwork on your business portrait session. 📷

What's inside the cover? writes "For every parent who has ever wondered what they should pack their child for lunch, Kerry Coleman has the answer. Here's to lunches that awaken our superpowers!"

Relevant for adult work lunches too, I might add. A bit of never hurt anyone, right?
