“I am interested in exploring the landscape from an elemental state,” says Stephanie. “I am curious about the aspects of the landscape that can’t be seen beneath the surface: the marks and fragments covered by sand and sea.”

With their super bulky form, chocolate brick, tiled roofs and fussy floorplans, 1980s homes have an idiosyncratic aesthetic that can deter many renovators from taking them on. Yet, whatever you think of the 80s, it’s a retro style bursting with potential.
