Change of plans..

So most of our friends and followers know that we are planning on doing cape york next year, well plans have changed.

We can still do it, but speaking with our travelling companions, we have made the call to put it off another year. We have our reasons and our mate has theirs so Im not going into detail.

This now means we can add in some extra stuff that wasnt planned for next years trip, and we are looking at adding in the big red bash in 2024.

This also means that we now have time next year for other adventures and currently looking into coral bay and exmouth somewhere between Apr and Oct, and maybe even monkey mia / shark bay / steep point and DHI.

So... if any of our friends or followers want to do a trip and reckon they can deal with our kids for around 3 weeks, shout out. I have minor plans in place like camping on the west coast near exmouth on the ningaloo reef and swimming with turtles etc

Also, most of our camping is self sufficient style, and we try to avoid parks where possible.

*Image for attention only, I downloaded it from google!

The suns finally out!

Last day before heading back to work tomorrow, so headed down to beach to chill out while Cass was at work and kids at school.

The first couple of pics are on a beach close to town, near the Bunbury port. Pretty much had the whole beach to myself all morning.

The last two are at koombana bay in town. Chilled out here for an hr while waiting on some things this morning.

Hopefully the weather stays fine for next break 🤙

Quickly grabbed my camera out and the tripod and managed to grab a shot with the 600mm lens.🤙

This is what I spend half of the year doing.😕

The rest of the time, Im at home either cleaning up around the yard while Cass is at work or doing something in the shed, or getting out camping and exploring.

Any spare time I find, I get in and work on our side hustle that will allow us more time to travel more freely and enjoy life more 🙂

Have you got a plan so you dont have to work until you die?

Tried to return the kids but they wouldnt accept them back!

We checked out the Caversham wildlife park after we left from camping last weekend. Was in the area for a family birthday so decided to check it out.

Plenty of animals to check out. Some we havent seen before.

Massive area in the middle to check out the roos and give them a feed from your hands.

Picked a solar blanket to run on the car when we park up for a few days to keep the beer fridge cold!.

The XTM blanker from bcf comes with its own regulatator and as our car and camper already have solar regulators, Ive changed the anderson connectors to suit.

Also made a lead to connect both panels to the camper which gives it 370w of solar!

Tested it out today and got up to 14v which I think is pretty damn good!

Might upgrade to lithium one day, not needed at the moment though.

So, this is something I have been thinking about for a while...

Most people are expecting their super and savings to get them through retirement... YOU ARE DEAD WRONG.

Unless you want to retire at 80 and die a few yr later. Your plan wont work. 1 Mil retirement wont work.

The average age of expectancy in Aus is around 82. The retirement age is 65. That works out to around $58,000 a yr if you have $1mil at 65 and own your house with no other debt, which most people wont.

Google the average super and the amount at retirement age is $325,000. So, using the same numbers as above, thats $19,000 a yr to live off... plus the pension. Add in inflation, good luck to you enjoying retirement.

Unless your investing or working on a side business, or have a profitable business, retirement wont be alot of fun. Id imagine the retirement age will go up in the next 25yrs which is currently when Im expected to retire.

I currently have 2 plans in place to be able to retire before that. One of which, the plan is to pay of our mortgage in 5yrs... which will mostly be with other peoples money and then will give us residual income into and through retirement of around $60-100k a yr 👌.

The other one, once its built up, will provide an income of at least $15k a month and has the potential to be a s**t load more with very little work.

Im at that age where this needs to be thought about more.

Just want to get this into people heads. I always thought super would be enough, but I was fu***ng wrong.

I know this isnt travel related, but its related to what we are about and our journey. Like almost everyone else, we still work in a normal job so not having time freedom and bulk cash to do what want is still an issue.

We have plans to get out and travel, so looked for other ways to make money to help fund our trips.

Books like these are helping us get into the right mindset and provide us with information about going our own way and hopefully achieveing that time freedom that everyone desires.

Just because you still work, or have no savings, dosent mean that you have push your dreams aside.

If you create a plan and stick to it, no matter how hard it is, you can achieve your dream.

This is why are have joined a great team with a awesome mentors to learn how to work on line with great products.

As the say, sucess leaves clues, Look at what others are doing to achieve what you want and follow their path.

Have a great, get out and enjoy life

Wish I was here Wednesday!

Throwback to a long time ago. We were part of the Eastern Goldfields 4wd club in Kalgoorlie. Shaun Organised a trip down to Israelite Bay and the Bilbunya sand dunes in W.A

Turned out to be some what of a wild life safari, seeing whales, seals on the beach, baby emus and roos, and sharks from the cliffs at the edge of the Great Australian Bight.

The Bilbunya dune system is the largest moving dune system in the southern hemisphere. Also turns out that if you dig a hole about 30cm deep, you hit fresh water that is filtered from the Nullabor. Also tastes pretty good!

The track back out to the highway took a bit longer than expected due to a storm taking down trees on our last night.

Still beats a day at work!

Anyone else been down this way and checked out the dunes?

💧Rainy saturday drives💧

Winter weather is definitely here! Bit of rain today so took a drive up to Wellington dam to check out the painting on the dam wall after Angus had a his league bowling game on today.

Stopped in a checked out the 'King Jarrah Tree' and Potters gorge which is a ski area. Will have to back during the warmer weather with the jetski

Was a bit cold walking around, trying to stay warm while taking photos!

Hope everyones enjoying their weekend 😀

Not a lot going on at the moment

Kids back at schoold after the holidays. Shaun's been on training for work and Cass is working.

Getting some s**t done around the yard while the sun's out, as this winter weather is bringing back the weeds into the grass and around other spots, trying to keep on top of it as Im sure a lot of you would understand.

Try and out and do something on the weekend when the kids arent at school. Hoping the weather dosent get too bad.

Let us know in the comments what your up to this coming weekend. Enjoy 🤙

Never seen the tide on this beach so high 😲

Couple of photos from a drive down on the beach last break. Never seen the tide so high at this beach. Usually, there is at least 50m of beach to drive on!

In some places the water was washing up to the base of the dunes. At one section we had to time it so that we didnt drive through the water washing up. Pretty crazy!

The beach took us to another access track around to the estuary. One part looks like a rain forrest! Stopped and checked out a small jetty that I have been too a few times on the jetski.

Cant believe its been 10 years!

Back in 2012 Shaun and Breeanna completed the canning stock route with a few mates. Cass stayed at home and took care of Angus and Paige as they were too you too take on such a remote trip.

This all started when Shaun was at another friends house, While we were talking about the CSR, Cass mentioned we should just do it. So Shaun planned the trip and a year later it was on!

This is something that we would do again but there is so much other stuff out there to see. Maybe one day we will take the family back along the CSR.

If there is a trip or anything you want to do, just plan it and the rest will work it self out. Get there and enjoy life.

This was the biggest at most remote trip that we have completed. Next years 2 month trip is underway and bookings have started! Its been too long since we have a done a big trip. Bring on the cape next year 🤙

Its been 3 years since we moved into our first home 👊

As a family we have been in 7 rental houses and had stints in both our parents places.

We always knew we wanted our own home and could never really afford too

We made changes in our lives to be able to live how we wanted to at the time. Shaun went from working IT, to starting a mature age apprenticeship at the age of 26 to become an auto electrician. Due to the medical system in Kalgoorlie we then relocated to Bunbury and about a yr and a half later, we started the FIFO life.

We were then able to save and build the house we wanted 🥳

No more pain of inspections, asking permissions, constantly having to move and paying off someone elses mortgage

Nothing changes unless something changes 🤙

Home time once again!

Another swing done and dusted.

Working away from the family is pretty s**t at times. This swing we had some things happen at home. Daughter was in a car crash and wrote off ther car. She and the grand daughter are fine, cars definatly not! Young fella had an autistic melt down on wed night because he misses his dad 😔 Part of the reason we are having a crack at making a second income on line.

But if it wasnt for this job, we wouldnt be where we are today.

Anyway, this break is my 40th b'day, have a mate coming from interstate and family coming from Perth for a p**s up. Gonna be great fun 🍺🍺🍺

Hope everyone has a good weeekend 🤙

Been a bit quiet on the socials lately, not a lot going on at the moment, so Ill throw up some photos from the past!

We used to live in Kalgoorlie W.A and got out a lot more than we do at the moment. It would be the main thing that we miss about Kalgoorlie since we moved down south.

Anyway, These are some shots from our trip on the Holland track which spans from Coolgardie to Hyden in the W.A goldfields. Only takes 2 day to complete or 1 day if your in a hurry. These photos are from 2009 and when we only had 2 kids to deal with!

From the photos we see lately, the bog holes are a bit deeper from when drove it.

Hopefully get back out there a do this again one day with the camper and the new rig.

Anyone else been along here? I know its pretty popular.

Time for new shoes!

Havent even had the patrol for 2yrs and already put 55,000km on it. Tyres were worn out when we had it in for a rotation 2 weeks ago so today they got changed out.

Wanted to run toyos but they dont come in our size 275/70/R18 so went with the maxxis razr. A few people with trols seem to be running these.

Whats everyone else using?

Started out the day pretty foggy!

Back up in Perth today for a couple of things. Headed into the city while picking up some stuff at Subiaco, and stopped in at Kings Park

Have been here already a few times, but decided to drop by and pick up the AusCoinWest collector coin that we dont have yet.

These coins are a good way to see w.a. Stop in and collect them from all over the state from the Kimberly to the South West. Over 100 to collect

Well the s**tty winter weather is definatly setting in and everyones slowly getting covid 😒

Had about an hr of sun earlier on and managed to get in a sneaky mow.

Got the shed cleaned up so we can use it tomorrow night for the daughters 21st party. Lets hope the weather clears up a bit.

Had the grand daughters 1st 2 weeks ago and we have my (Shaun's) 40th in a couple of weeks. Party central at the moment 🥳

Long weekend in W.A so we made it a road trip day! No camping tbis weekend due to other things we had on.

Headed out to check out Nannup today. Nannup is a small town located on the Blackwood river in the southwest of W.A with a population of around 580 people.

We stopped in a checked out Barrabup pool and the campsites. Not a lot of room here for campers or caravans but still a nice spot to check out.

Headed into town and checked out a few shops, grabbed the AusCoinWest for our collection and stopped at the local furniture shop for a quote on a Marri hallway table to match our dining table.

Stopped at the local brewery for lunch before heading home via Donnybrook.

Something to think about...

Bronnie Ware, an Australian nurse who spent several years working in palliative care, caring for patients in the last 12 weeks of their lives, recorded their dying regrets in a blog.

These are the top 5 results.

These are also the same reasons why we stepped out of our comfort zone and into something we had no idea about... We dont want to be one of these people
