Blak Label Music is an independent, First Nations owned and operated contemporary record label striving to create and nurture a community of like-minded artists, and bring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices, stories and art to a global stage. We aim to use musical, visual and technological mediums to enhance the creative and economic prosperity of our artists, while ensuring we support and protect the interests of minority groups across the wider industry.

We can’t forget to mention that the Play Blak showcase was met with a SOLD OUT/CAPACITY CROWD✨And we are proud to say throughout this we maintained a safe space for mob 🤝🏾❤️

Velvet Trip will be playing the 'Play Blak' showcase at SXSW Sydney

Velvet Trip is the Psychedelic music project of Zeppelin Hamilton & Clayton Allen.

Throughout 2021-2023 they notably performed at the opera house alongside Wiradjuri poet Jazz Money, featured on the ABC program ‘Going Country’ with Emily Wurramara, and supported Parcels on a sold-out theatre tour around Australia.

Velvet Trip have been featured in The NY Times (T Mag), RUSSH, NME Australia, and were signed to Mushroom Group's First Nations Pathway Program to be mentored by Mo’Ju and Tasman Keith.

Written and produced within the confines of Hamilton's laptop and performed live with interchanging members - VT is an ever-evolving entity moving in unexpected directions.

🌟 Blak Label takes BIGSOUND! 🌟

This year marked a monumental milestone for Blak Label Music as we made our debut appearance at Big Sound! 🎉 BIGSOUND continues to solidify its position on Australia's cultural calendar as the epicenter where the stars of tomorrow are unveiled, and the future of the music industry takes shape.

We couldn't be prouder to have our very own artist, the incredibly talented Alf the Great, gracing the stages at Press Club and Summahouse.

But it wasn't just about the performances! The Blak Label team was hard at work, immersing ourselves in industry insights and fostering valuable connections.

A special shoutout to Tjaka, who also rocked their inaugural BIGSOUND showcases at Soapbox Beer and Tomcat, with a captivating performance in the Quiver laneway for the Ableton Artist meet.

BIGSOUND was alive with sensational showcases from First Nations artists, and it fills our hearts with pride to witness our communities making waves on these iconic stages. 🌟
