So, who are we? Well, first of all, we’re the lifestyle magazine for the Central Coast in NSW. We’re written for Coasties by Coasties about, well you guessed it, Coasties. The first issue launches on September 1 and you’ll find it in cafes, restaurants, bars and small businesses across the Central Coast.
Coastiesmag.com is the extended digital arm of the magazine. And just like in the mag, we cover all the best places to eat, drink and play on the Central Coast. We all about uncovering our region’s secret treasures. And we love telling inspiring local stories.
But more than anything, we’re all about supporting local businesses. Coasties came to life after COVID-19 swept through the Central Coast, closing down businesses and leaving our economy on its knees. The aim of the magazine, and coastiesmag.com, is to breathe life back into the businesses here on the Coast by showcasing the innovators, the movers and the shakers. And we’re lucky here, there’s plenty of them.
And to show how much we #lovelocal, we’ve given away all advertising space for free in our first issue. It was our way of paying it forward to the businesses that needed a little help getting back on their feet post-lockdown.

Amy Nelmes Bissett is the Founder and Editor of Coasties. She has been a journalist, editor and content creator for just under twenty years. Previous to launching Coasties, she wrote features on everything from politics to health, women’s interest to tech for publications all around the world, including Marie Claire, Refinery29, Sydney Morning Herald, Radio New Zealand, The Independent, Grazia, Cosmopolitan and many more. She’s also written extensive travel articles, published in Air New Zealand’s Kia Ora magazine, Bound, Fox News and was contributing editor for the Fodor’s Australia travel book published in 2019.
