Universal Colours 🌈
Based on colour theory, there are certain colours that are classified as universal, meaning that they can theoretically be worn by anyone.
This doesn’t mean that all of these colours will look incredible on everyone, but it does mean that most people can wear these colours without too much concern. Does that mean you should wear an entire outfit of one of these colours even when it’s not in your palette? Not necessarily. But adding small amounts of these colours into a look will have little to no bearing on your overall appearance.
Just a good little fact to have up your sleeve 🎨

What happens when your hair starts to go grey but you want to make sure it still matches your colour season? ⬇️
Grey hair is cool which means that Summers & Winters will look great if they choose to embrace it.
If you’d rather not have a full head of grey hair, grey blending specialist, Rosie suggests cool, ashy tones for people with cool undertones. To achieve this and avoid warmth coming through it’s important your stylist lifts the colour enough to prevent brassiness.
If you are an Autumn or Spring with a warm undertone, grey may not be the best choice for you (depending on your sub season). If you’d like to embrace it, just make sure to be extra vigilant with your makeup and clothing colours. If you are wanting to go down the grey blending path, Rosie suggests adding very small ribbons of warmth throughout your hair to break up the grey.
Rosie offers a guide for grey blending that you can take with you to your hair appointment to ensure you stylist is on the same page with the results you are after. More info is available via the link in bio @rosiebaylishair

Underrated colours for Springs 🌷
I find the season that struggles the most to adjust to their colours are my beautiful springs. These colours are really so gorgeous and to help you fall in love with your season, here are 3 colours that you absolutely need to try!
I most commonly see these colours named as Turquoise, Aqua, Salmon, Coral, Green Tea and Green Apple. Keep in mind that brands make up their own names for colours, so you will still need to colour match with your palette.
Let me know if you like these colours too! 🤍

Underrated colours for Autumns 🍂
You may love them or hate them, but I think that mustard, forest/jungle green and teal are under-utilised colours that look fantastic on autumns.
Do you have any of these colours in your wardrobe?

Underrated colours for summers ☀️
The three colours I don’t see a lot of summers wearing include ruby/rose/orchid pink, dusty purple and ash brown.
These colours are so gorgeous and could also be paired so seamlessly together.
Do you have any of these in your wardrobe?

I’ve been hearing Charli XCX music everywhere lately and it inspired me to do her analysis.
Charli is a great example of how you can look edgy whilst still dressing in your best colours. As a Deep Winter, she will look her best in deep, neutral-cool and bright colours.

Colour analysis is a great way to find deeper understanding of which makeup products will suit you best, but can it help you to find your ideal foundation shade?
Yes and no…
It will absolutely help you to figure out your undertone, which can assist when shade matching, but it’s important to remember that we all have different overtones to our skin, so the foundation that suits you may not suit another person who also belongs to your same season.
You may also find that when you go in-store for colour matching, the person assisting you may tell you that your undertone is different to what is in your colour analysis. This is because makeup artists are trained to match to your skin overtone (as they should) and haven’t been taught the concepts of overtone and undertone in their training. You can definitely let them know your undertone, but just remember that they may not match you with a shade that is the exact same as what comes up in your colour analysis. As long as it looks good, that’s all that matters!
It’s important to remember that colour analysis is an amazing tool, but it won’t do all the work for you. You will still need to go out and try on foundation shades to see which works best.

Why are we so obsessed with being blonde?
There are so many reasons, but one of the reasons is due to the fact that blonde hair is seen as a symbol of youth and fertility. It then makes sense that in our pursuit of prolonged youth, we dye our hair blonde to appear younger and in turn, more attractive to prospective mates.
There is definitely a racial element to it as well, with blondeness being akin to whiteness and the perceived power and authority that will allow you.
We are complex beings and there is always a reason for why we do what we do. I love this kind of thing, let me know if you’d like to learn more facts like this 🤍
