Cover: There's been some big numbers run in the USA as the 2001 season draws to a close, not the least of which was a 204.35 mph (328.86 kph) by Mark Osborne's Pro Stocker. But that doesn't mean we ignore the local bracket contests that are the bread and butter meetings at regional centres, such as Darwin and Alice Springs. Photo by Lee Davis

Cover: Kelly Corbett was certainly the Queen of the 2010 Castrol Edge Winternationals. Despite a dubious red light in the final, Kelly still won the Willowbank Track Championship, the Rocket Allstars Australia Modified Championship and the John Storm Memorial Trophy. Not a bad weekend's work really.

Cover: Top Fuel dragsters are the quickest and fastest vehicles in the world however they can also be the most spectacular and dangerous beasts at the same time. Just when you think you're on a good run the unexpected can turn things right around. Just ask Bob Shepherd. While testing at WSID last month Shepherd followed his daughter Amanda's steps with a massive explosion of his own. Thankfully no one was hurt from flying debris although Bob's bank balance is another story. Pic by Fred Dwyer

Cover: They don't come any more individualistic, or any more exciting than Allan Dobson, and when he's backed by the make-do champions of the Greene team they can set the world on fire. 288 mph on second-hand slicks from a Top Doorslammer! What a team.

Dragster Australia #593 March 22, 2002 (Not 2001)
COVER: Cory Armstrong became the racer of the outright quickest rotary-powered car in Australia with a sensational 7.49 recently in what has been a wave of rotary record-busting. And speaking of record busters, Victor Bray grabbed both ends of the Top Doorslammer mark back as he charged to a runner-up in a sensational contest at the 31st Marlows Westernationals behind Peter Kapiris.

Cover: The 2002 Global Info-Links Nationals was a historic event for many reasons. After last year's control of meeting the racers this year, the responsibility was again taken up by the racing community - in a unique way. Willowbank Raceway, a racer-run venue, took the burden and showed how to make it work.

There's plenty of colour in drag racing in the 1990s. Perth's Ken Dickie is one of the sport's strongest supporters of the heads-up. Group Four sedans, and towed the 2000 miles. from the West for this years. Nats, just to prove it. And the smart-looking '34 coupe of Brisbane's Bob Scott always looks the part of a classy machine.

Cover: Over the years Murray Anderson has built some amazing cars but wait till you get a load of this. Geoff Graden and his team have turned this Murray Anderson piece of magic into something quite amazing. We (DA) were blown away and I'm sure you will be too. Pic by John Bosher The other side of drag racing is the incidents and this Steve Thomas shot from the Castrol Winternations show just how dramatic our sport can be with one of the wildest two-car wrecks ever seen.

Cover: One of the biggest balls up in Australian Drag Racing is still being played out as this issue of Dragster Australia goes to print. Lex Swayn has done an outstanding job explaining where this drama currently is and make no mistake, the ramifications will be felt for years to come.

Dragster Australia No. 397 - September 2, 1994.
There aren't many racers who will have had the sort of dream introduction to the sport that's been enjoyed by ex-Tasmanian Peter Gratz. Smart buying on an engine and chassis and good common sense has taken the rookie from "Peter Who?" to the quickest doorslammer racer in the nation

Dragster Australia #773, February 20, 2009.
Cover: Mark Sheehan performed exceedingly well against American visitor Gary Densham, although a lane infraction in the final cost the West Aussie the win. Another Nitro racer to impress was Kiwi Athol Williams who ran an amazing 231 mph on his fuel scooter, as well as winning the event.
