Some quick tips on what to post on our Story:

✔ POLL - get to know your audience by asking them a question with customized answers.

✔ BOOMERANG - take a burst of photos of your workstation or your behind-the-scenes then watch it play in a short, looping forward and backward video. This is surely a unique way to create an interest with your audience!

✔ MUSIC - you can make your shared story more interesting by adding music to what you're about to share

A great way to establish trust with your audience is to share valuable content on your social media feed.

However, even though we always hear the term "VALUABLE CONTENT", most of us are clueless about what value are we referring to.

Valuable content may be any of the following:

✔ Educational - Your audience visits your page more when you have established your business as an authority in your field.

✔ Motivational - These times have called for more of these types of content as the pandemic has brought a lot of hardships to everyone. Motivational content usually appeals to your audience's emotions. These are highly shareable and engaging.

✔ Instructional - Another type of educational content that serves to provide step-by-step instructions or how-to tips.

✔ Video - This type of content has gained a lot of traction especially in these times as people are looking to engage despite being cooped up in their homes.

✔ Entertaining - From polls, quizzes, surveys, and memes, this type of content allows you to learn more about your followers

So don't just put out a post for the sake of sharing something. Think about what you're going to post and make sure that it's going to be valuable to your followers.

❓How often do you get feedback from your customers?
❓Is this something that you actively seek out
❓When was the last time you asked someone "what can we do to improve?"

Too often as small business owners we are scared to ask these questions because we don't really want to hear that something is not quite right, or that we could be doing better.

It makes us feel vulnerable, and in some instances we take it personally - let's face it, our businesses are our babies 👶

If we can step back and truly look at our business through the eyes and experiences of our customers, we can gain some valuable insight AND make our customers feel appreciated.

One of the main benefits of being a Small Business is that you can pivot quickly. As the decision maker you have the ability to be nimble, and to adjust your offering, your way of working, your delivery, your service much quicker than large organisations.

What is important is that you don't overthink. There is a place for long-term thinking but if you can pivot now, before your competition, do so.
