Extremely saddened to hear of the passing of the finest cameraman I’ve ever known, Rob “RB” Brown. Whilst the coming days will be filled with tributes to RB as the super talented operator that he was, I will forever be thankful for a mentor who taught me so much over the past 20 years. He was always so generous with his knowledge, encouragement, kindness and inspirational talks.
In my early days of media, RB was often the only familiar face I recognised on overseas gigs where I often felt out of my depth. He was always there to give me a prop up and help me whenever needed, even though we were technically from “rival” networks.
Since starting Flix Productions, collaborating with Rob Brown Productions has been a constant that always elevated our projects to another level. Whenever a project required the absolute best, he was always the man for the job.
A humble man, RB would beam with pride when talking about his wife, Vicky and daughters Ellie and Alex. I’ll miss those conversations most.
As I reflect today on a friendship full of great times, I thought it fitting to put together something that shows his incredible contributions to projects with, or including, Flix Productions over the last few years.
Our thoughts are with Vicky, Alex & Ellie❤️

The South Adelaide Basketball Club is excited to share the appointment of Simon Crowden to the role of General Manager.

Simon Crowden is a seasoned corporate leader and basketball enthusiast with a rich background in both realms.

In the corporate arena, Simon has held prominent roles at esteemed organizations, including the Civil Contractors Federation SA, where he served as the Senior Manager of Member Experience, Engagement, and Communications. He also contributed significantly to Cashback Solutions, the world's largest Loyalty Program, as the Commercial Manager for Australia and New Zealand, demonstrating his strategic acumen. Simon further showcased his leadership skills at Yahoo!7 as the State Manager and gained valuable experience at Sensis and Salmat.

In the world of basketball, Simon's passion and expertise shine through. As a Qualified Performance Coach, he made a mark as the Assistant Coach for MAC Adelaide Lightning in the WNBL 2015-2016 season. Over 13 years in the NBL1, he served as an assistant coach for South Women, North Adelaide Rockets Women (winning the Championship in 2014), and Southern Tigers (winning the Championship in 2017). Simon has also made significant contributions to the state basketball program, achieving a Silver Medal with the U20's Girls SA in 2012.

Beyond coaching, Simon is a Level 3 Referee and Grade 2 Referee Coach, earning recognition as the NBL1 Referee Coach of the Year in 2023.

His multifaceted experience reflects a dedicated professional with a passion for both corporate excellence and basketball development.

Simon comes to us, after spending the last 18 months traveling around Australia with his wife Carla and his 2 daughters, Charlotte 5 and Maddie 4.
