80th Anniversary of 2RAR formation reunion:

As part of the planning of our 80th Anniversary of formation of 2 RAR we are looking at doing a limited release merchandise order for this event consisting of a reunion 2 RAR Polo, Cap and stubby cooler. If you have ideas on what products you might like such as a Rum/Port Anniversary edition, please advise the 2RAR Association so that planning early can be conducted.

Current planning for a reunion event is under way for SE QLD in Oct 2025 with further details to follow of this event.

Welfare: Veteran Family Policy Forum

DVA is seeking Expressions of Interest from the community for participation in the 2025 Veteran Families Policy Forum.

This Forum is an opportunity for DVA to collaborate with the community on policy ideas and product development on topics that are important to us all.

The Expression of Interest will be open throughout February, and can be accessed via the DVA website here: Consultation with Veteran Families | Department of Veterans' Affairs

The Forum is seeking representation from across the country and community, with all types of veteran families.

If you are a family member of a veteran, you can express your interest in attending the Forum by completing the Expression of Interest form.

The Forum is one way government and DVA are listening to veteran families and using their feedback to co-design future DVA policy and service delivery options.

MyService provides a convenient way to manage your claims and access other online services. If you haven’t signed up yet, it’s quick and easy to get started.

MyService online allows you to:

-submit claims and view their progress
- upload information to support your claim
- apply for DVA-funded mental health treatment and other benefits
- view your Veteran Card online and see your accepted conditions
- book transport and claim transport costs
- download official letters for tax or concession purposes
- update your personal details.

Murray’s funeral was held on 30th January 2025 with friends' family and veterans in attendance

The Interment of her Dads Ashes will be held on Monday, 3rd February 2025 at 10.00am at the Tablelands Memorial Gardens, Nasser Road, ATHERTON FNQ

A Poppy Service will be conducted by the local Malanda RSL Sub Branch.

Merv Dicton, advised that Albert, late of St Vincent's Aged Care Douglas, Qld, passed away peacefully on 17 December 2024, aged 83, at the Townsville University Hospital, surrounded by family.

In keeping with Albert's wishes a private service was held with the family.
May he Rest in Peace

Mick was from Balhannah South Australia and his funeral was held at Bowen Funerals, Darroch House, 6 Briar Rd, Felixstow SA
on Monday 25th November 2024 and was attended by over a 100 people.

Mick was a 2 RAR Association member for many years.
