Aunt Delta was against gold diggers in Elvis' life and told him about it several times.
Delta Mae Presley Biggs, also known as "Aunt Delta", was Elvis Presley's aunt and the sister of his father, Vernon Presley. She was the last member of the Presley family to live at Graceland, the mansion where Elvis died, and was a key figure in the day-to-day running of the estate:
Lived at Graceland - Aunt Delta lived at Graceland from 1966 until her death in 1993. She was the only Presley family member living there when Graceland opened to the public in 1982.
Aunt Delta was responsible for ensuring the house ran smoothly and that Elvis was happy when he was home. She also protected the home from intruders.
Aunt Delta was a private person who didn't mix with the visitors who toured the mansion. She mostly stayed in a bedroom near the kitchen, which was off-limits to tourists at the time.
Elvis gave Delta the Pomeranian, Edmund. He was like her guard dog, he became her protector. If you went near her room, this dog would start barking, growling, going crazy. You could hear her yelling at him from the other side of the door to shut up.
She would put on her robe and take him out several times a day, holding him in her right hand.
Later, once the tours started, she would still walk around the house in her robe, carrying Edmund, bumping into visitors and saying, "What the hell are you looking at, you sons of bi***es?" and giving them the finger and continuing to curse under her breath as she walked the dog outside.
One day, a tourist asked, "Aren't you Delta's Auntie?" and Delta said, "Oh, hell no, she's dead."

Once Elvis's friend Paul Lichter asked him which film Elvis considered his best.

- Paul, without a question - it's "King Creole". I'm very proud of it, - Elvis answered.

The story of how Elvis got the role of Danny Fisher is an interesting one. Hal Wallis, the man who opened the way for Elvis to appear on the big screen, decided to meet with the famous director Michael Curtiz. Curtiz was a very respectable and serious Hollywood director who created many films that became Hollywood classics, including the famous "Casablanca". Wallis suggested that Curtiz make a serious film with Elvis in the leading role. The answer that came from Michael was: no. Curtiz explained his refusal by saying that he was used to working with professionals and did not see any special acting talent in Presley. Wallis did not give up. He asked Curtiz to look at the script of the film in which Elvis was supposed to star and which Curtiz was offered to direct.

The script of the film was based on the novel by Harold Robbins "A Stone for Danny Fisher". Initially The script was written for James Dean, but the tragic death of the young actor interrupted the plans for the film. Now Elvis was offered to play the role of Danny Fisher. Wallace said to Kurtiz:

- You can give Presley a wonderful opportunity to do what he wants most of all.

- What is that? - asked Michael
- To show that he respects the older generation, - was Wallace's answer.

Kurtiz gave in. He told Wallace that he agreed to make a film with Elvis in the leading role, but only if Presley met some of his demands, namely, a little change in his appearance.
When Kurtiz met Elvis, he asked him, firstly, to cut his hair shorter, and secondly, to lose 7-8 pounds.
In addition, he explained to Elvis that he should act more naturally in front of the camera. Kurtiz expected Elvis to show some displeasure and resistance in response to his demands, but was very surprised when Elvis politely and simply said:

- You are the boss, Mr. Kurtiz.

Elvis complied with all the director's demands. He cut his hair shorter and lost 10 pounds.

Curtiz found Elvis Presley to be a very gentle and kind young man. Curtiz made Elvis work very hard and deeply on his role and when the film was finished,The director was very pleased with Elvis's work.

Baz Luhrmann teases new "Elvis Concert Film":
Good news for Elvis fans when director Baz Luhrmann once again talked about his possible Elvis concert film with Hollywood Reporter at the Met Gala
Once again the 'ELVIS' director hinted he was working on a concert film of never-before-seen footage from the superstar.
At the Met Gala Luhrmann teased that he may not be quite done with Elvis Presley-related projects, following his 2022 film.
The director told Hollywood Reporter, “The fans really want to know if all that footage we found in the vaults is going to become a concert film and I’m here to say I think it’s gonna happen.”
Last October Luhrmann had posted on Instagram that “we’ve found reels and reels of never-before-seen footage of 'Elvis on Tour' and 'That’s The Way It Is',” telling fans to “stay tuned.”
An accompanying video showed a cardboard box with a Warner Bros. label and “Elvis outtakes box”written on the side. -
The director has also previously mentioned an "extended cut" of ELVIS with more of Austin’s performances.

Elvis Proposed to Ginger they were making wedding plans.......

I never got to know Ginger Alden well. She's not much of a talker, but a while back Elvis told me he'd fallen in love with her. 'This is the love I've been searching for', he said. 'I want more children, a son. And I want Ginger to be my children's mother'.
After that, Ginger and Elvis came over to show me her engagement ring. That was one of the few times I'd ever seen her smiling.
I assumed they were going to get married, but nothing happenéd and Whenever I tried to talk to Elvis about Ginger, he'd seem upset.
Finally, just a day or so before he died, I told him, 'I keep hearing and reading that you're going to announce your engagement. Is that right? When are you going to get married?' 'Only God knows', Elvis said.
I got a feeling then that maybe he was changing his mind about marriage.
---
The papers have played up the fact that neither Priscilla nor Ginger was mentioned in Elvis' will. In answer to that, I want to point out that Ginger had already gotten her share of gifts from Elvis. As for Priscilla, she didn't expect to be mentioned, because Elvis had made his settlement with her when they were divorced.

New 'Memphis' box set highlights Elvis' hometown recordings, from Sun to Jungle Room ...
Despite a long recording career that saw him cut at top studios in New York, Nashville and Hollywood, Elvis Presley’s most uniquely powerful work was captured in his hometown of Memphis. In August, RCA Records and Legacy Recordings will celebrate that body of work with a new Elvis box set titled “Memphis.”
The five-CD set — which will also be released digitally and in a pared down two-LP vinyl package — marks the first “fully comprehensive collection” of the recordings Presley made in the Bluff City. It will be released Aug. 9 and is available for pre-order now.
---
Coinciding with the 70th anniversary of Presley’s first sessions at Sun Records in 1954, "Memphis" includes 111 tracks spanning his recordings in the city, with 88 of those tracks newly remixed by local Grammy-winning engineer/producer Matt Ross-Spang at his Crosstown studio, Southern Grooves. The deluxe package also features liner notes from fellow Grammy winner and Memphis author/essayist Robert Gordon.
---
Produced by noted Elvis archivist Ernst Jørgensen, the box set chronicles Presley’s 1954 and 1955 sessions at Sun, his comeback at American Sound studios in 1969, the music he made at Strax Records in 1973, live recordings from a 1974 show at the Mid-South Coliseum, and a final set of songs cut in the Jungle Room of his Graceland home in 1976, a year before his passing.
---
Aside from the iconic Sun recordings, all the tracks on "Memphis" were newly mixed by Ross-Spang, removing overdubbed strings, horns and additional backing vocals. As Jørgensen notes, this “provides a unique ‘fly-on-the-wall’ glimpse of what it sounded like to Elvis, while he was recording all these songs with the band.” A version of “Polk Salad Annie,” from the 1974 Mid-South Coliseum show, has been released, offering the first preview of the set.

---
As the announcement of the project notes, these new intimate mixes offer a variety of musical revelations, “from Elvis' intuitive chemistry with “The Memphis Boys” at American (particularly notable on “Long Black Limousine”), to the subtle way he builds his vocal phrasing around his backing singers in the Stax sessions, or the palpable joy he brings to the innuendo-filled lyrics of “Way Down” in the Jungle Room.”
In his new essay for the package, Gordon writes: “With these recordings on Memphis, we are standing next to Elvis inside the recording studio, us and the basic band, hearing what he’s hearing. The strings haven’t been booked, horns are not yet on stand-by, the background vocalists are at home watching TV. What we hear is the foundation onto which the hits were built, the basic tracks that were in the studio with Elvis. And nothing more. We’re hearing a beautifully mixed version of what Elvis was hearing in his headphones when he was singing.”

The restoration of the wall in the Meditation Garden on the Graceland domain started at the end of May. The work is currently still in full swing. The entire area is fenced off with a wooden construction, so that none of the work is visible from the front of the wall. At the rear of the wall you can clearly see that the wall is being completely propped up, which is no surprise as we could see for years that the wall was starting to lean backwards.

The restoration has proven to be highly necessary. it became clear that the wall had significant cracks and was sinking. Provisional struts at the rear had already been installed at the time.

The wall is in a sloping arc around the place where Elvis is buried and features characteristic stained glass windows. These windows give the wall a unique look and contribute to the serene atmosphere of the Meditation Garden.

It is currently unknown how long the work will take.
