The next phase of runway works commences tonight.

Sydney Airport Works
Ministerial approval has been granted for the closure of the main North South runway 16R/34L for up to 18 nights until 31 March 2025. Operations will be from the smaller parallel runway 16L/34R when the main runway is closed.
12 closures will be on Friday Saturday and Sunday nights, and six closures which occur Monday-Thursday due to laying asphalt.

I’ll post actual dates as they are notified.

Runway 07 in use at Sydney due to the strong North Easterly winds.
It’s going to be noisier for Eastlakes, Kingsford, Maroubra and Coogee with departing jets.

Then standby for possible thunderstorms from 7pm as a significant weather system moves in from the west.

Curfew works will close the main runway at Sydney airport tonight Sunday 27th October from 11pm till 6am.
Approved aircraft will operate from the smaller parallel runway 16L/34R.

18/10/2024

Navaid flight testing Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th October. 8am till 6pm on both days.
Testing will be on runway 16L and 34R.
Flight tracks are from previous testing and are indicative of the areas expected to be affected.
