The downside of this wonderful reality is that some episodes aren’t as great as others. We here at The Simpsons Index have made it our mission to create a reliable guide to help people only watch the best episodes.

…Or watch only bad episodes, whatever you like. The Simpsons Index Podcast is where the data for The Spreadsheet comes from. In each episode of the podcast, host Elliot Jay O’Neill is

joined by guests to watch and review 3 episodes of The Simpsons. The catch is that each of the 3 episodes must come from a different decade of the show’s run. Elliot & the guests give their individual rankings for each episode using The Simpsons Index 6 point scale;
Cubic Zirconia - Essential episodes
Gold - Excellent episodes
Silver - Great episodes
Bronze - Good episodes
Participant - Flat episodes
Failure - Bad episodes
