The METZELER TT VILLAGE is back in the spotlight at the Isle of Man TT 2025 with a โ€˜glampingโ€™ formula

The campsite, which in the past has hosted motorcyclists and fans from all over the world in the heart of the Isle of Man, is renewed with high-level services, opening registrations for the 2025 event
9 January 2025 - The Metzeler TT Village, one of the most successful initiatives of the Metzeler brand, is back in the spotlight at the Isle of Man TT Races, scheduled from 26 May to 7 June 2025, with an elevated premium formula that combines the spirit of traditional camping with the most sought-after services of a hotel.
Over the years, the Metzeler TT Village has become a reference point for all motorcyclists and enthusiasts who, every year look for accommodation on this small island to watch the races of the legendary and spectacular Tourist Trophy that has been held since 1907 on the road circuit of the Snaefell Mountain Course, a 60.720-kilometre track on the Isle of Man.

After the success recorded in the six events held from 2013 to 2018, this year the Metzeler campsite is renewed with some innovations. First of all, the location changes, although it will always be in Douglas, the beating heart of the action, but now within the Bray Hill area, a steep climb located not far from the TT Grandstand and the Metzeler Bridge, and one of the best spots along the route from which to enjoy the races and the unique experience of the Isle of Man TT.
The structure will offer, as in the past, quality accommodation with tents, which can accommodate up to a maximum of 3 people, for the first time equipped with real beds and equipped with every comfort. In addition, inside the structure there are toilets, motorcycle parking, free Wi-Fi throughout the area, a mobile phone charging service and a guest house where guests can have breakfast every morning.

The Metzeler TT Village completes the strong presence of the Metzeler brand on the occasion of the Isle of Man TT. Metzeler was indeed selected in 2023 by the Department for Enterprise of the Isle of Man Government as the Official Tyre of the event with a sponsorship contract for the Tourist Trophy races for the five-year period 2023-2027. Successes achieved in the race by the Metzeler RACETEC RR tyres are also numerous, including the two Senior TTs won with Dean Harrison, in 2019, and with Davey Todd, in 2024.
Thanks to the participation in Road Racing activities and the know-how acquired, the offer of tyres in the Metzeler range has been enriched over the years, giving life to highly successful products.

Registrations for the Metzeler TT Village are already open and it is possible to book your stay, selecting the number of nights you require, during the period between May 26th and June 7th 2025. How amazing do the new 2025 Triumph Speed Twins look?!

With a host of upgrades, including performance rubber, in the shape of SPORTEC M9 RR tyres for the Speed Twin 1200 and RACETEC RR K3 for the Speed Twin 1200 RS, both bikes look like they would be an absolute hoot on the road.

The 2024 Macau Grand Prix proved a strange one. A typhoon hit the Far East venue earlier in the week which led to both the free practice and first qualifying sessions being cancelled.

A single qualifying session saw Davey Todd top the timesheets from Erno Kastomo and Peter Hickman. Michael Rutter and Robert Hodson rounded out the top five qualifiers.

With weather continuing to be a problem, causing various cancellations and schedule changes, the 12-lap race was eventually scrapped, with organisers using the qualifying results to crown a victor for the yearโ€™s event.

As a result, Davey Toddโ€™s pole netted him the win, Kostamo second and Hickman third on the podium.

Congrats Davey

Who doesn't like a Custom Build!? And this one here, is definitely something a little special.

Built by Black Cycles Australia, this stunning creation is a fusion of HD's iconic V-Rod with the sleek, minimalist lines of a cafรฉ racer, culminating in the V-Racer.

Functional as it is beautiful, even more so (we think) as it's shod with our ME 888 MARATHON ULTRA tyres ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ›ž

Metzeler Karoo 4 tyres and the Honda Africa Twin: 4 Himalayan passes climbed in just over 8 hours for a total altitude of 21,400 metres

A high-altitude expedition to the Ladakh region of India to test strictly standard motorcycles and tyres in very difficult conditions and also on very demanding off-road routes
Metzeler Karoo 4 tyres, mounted on six Honda Africa Twin machines, were the protagonists of a very special undertaking, organised by Honda, which made it possible to appreciate the performance of both motorcycles and tyres in a demanding and challenging context - that of the Himalayan passes in the Ladakh region of India.

A team of riders riding six Honda Africa Twin motorcycles, thanks to a meticulous preparation programme, made it possible to overcome the difficulties related to the highest altitudes, climbed four Himalayan passes covering a total of over 300 kilometres for a total altitude of 21400 metres and in a record time of just over 8 hours.

The team composed of Carlo Fiorani (Honda), Salvo Pennisi (Metzeler), journalists Thorsten Dentges (Motorrad) and Carlo Pettinato (Due Ruote), as well as the rider Francesca Gasperi and the Olympic Champion, prorider and content creator Marco Aurelio Fontana. They travelled along a mixed off-road and asphalt track, remaining constantly above 4,500 metres above sea level, through the Tsaga La, Photi La, Umling La and Nurbu La passes for an altitude that added up is equal to 21400 metres and in a total time that is difficult to match.

The motorcycles used were strictly standard Honda Africa Twin, in the ES and Adventure Sports versions equipped with Metzeler Karoo 4 tyres in rear size 150/70 R18 M/C 70T M+S TL and front size 21 inches (90/90 โ€“ 21 M/C 54T M+S TL) and 19 inches (110/80 R19 M/C 59T M+S TL) respectively, using SC-Project exhausts. A mix that proved to be successful in easily overcoming the difficulties of the route.

The departure from Pangong Lake, very close to the border with China, at 7 am. The first Himalayan pass โ€“ Tsaga La โ€“ was quickly reached after about 70 kilometres of a smooth track with fords and a sandy background. The squadron set off towards the second pass, the Photi La, riding along a very narrow and winding spectacular mountain road with crumbling asphalt, which was missing in places. The altitude of over 5,000 metres was felt by riders and bikes alike, but posed no particular challenge thanks to the physical preparation of the team and the sophisticated electronic fuel injector of the Africa Twins, which compensated perfectly for the drop in oxygen. After the descent from the Photi La pass, the team quickly reached the highest altitude of the expedition, the Umling La pass, which, at nearly 5,900 metres above sea level, is currently the highest pass in the world that can be reached by vehicle. The riders then descended to the Nurbula pass, also well over 5,000 meters, as the last stage of this high-altitude adventure.

The entire team was very satisfied to see the stopwatch stop on the time of 8 hours, 4 minutes and 14 seconds, an impressive result considering the conditions and characteristics of this high mountain route. The package consisting of Honda Africa Twin and Metzeler Karoo 4 tyres thus confirmed that it is an ideal combination for adventure travel, thanks to qualities such as great autonomy and exceptional handling that allowed to easily overcome even challenging off-road routes.

In fact, the Metzeler Karoo 4 tyres offer exemplary off-road traction, also in bottomless dirt, combined with significant on-road handling, regardless of the load case, thanks also to the excellent performance on wet roads and rider-aid integration. Added to this is the extreme abrasion, cutting and tearing resistance.

Salvatore Pennisi, Director Testing and Technical Relations Metzeler
โ€œThis feat bolsters the winning long-standing partnership between the Honda Africa Twin and Metzeler tyres. In 2017, with Honda Africa Twins fitted with Metzeler MC 360 tyres, we achieved three world records by climbing the Nevado Ojos del Salado volcano on the border between Argentina and Chile. Here we are seven years later with a new adventure, in an equally challenging environment that saw the Honda Africa Twin, in this case fitted with Metzeler Karoo 4 tyres, on an adventure through the legendary Himalayan passes of Ladakh, in India. The route proved to be an exceptional testing ground for both bike and tyres, once again confirming what is an absolutely winning combination. In both the 19-inch and 21-inch versions, the combination of the Honda Africa Twin and Metzeler Karoo 4 tyres showed benchmark performance in the fast-growing adventure travel segment. Off-road or asphalt, dry or wet, we enjoyed the perfect interaction and balance between bike and tyres under every condition. In addition to the technical experience, there was also the human aspect, with wonderful companions, great riders and friendsโ€.

Carlo Fiorani, Honda Motor Europe Ltd Italy
A fantastic trip to a Himalayan region where Tibetan culture can be felt everywhere. Impressive temples and spectacular panoramas that opened up after every turn, endless trails leading to the most remote places in the world, a pure joy for travel and rally enthusiasts. This adventure will remain in our hearts forever, also thanks to a team that has always been united by their passion for motorbikes and extreme riding. As travel companions, we faced and overcame every difficulty together and developed a true friendship by sharing an unforgettable experience. The Africa Twins handled nicely, despite the heights they reached, and their ease of control and power allowed us to be fast but extremely safe, both on and off-road. A true Rally Queen!"

Five enduro world titles won with Metzeler tyres

Josep Garcia is World Champion in the EnduroGP and Enduro1 classes, while Andrea Verona, Brad Freeman and Manuel Verzeroli are the winners of Enduro2, Enduro3 and Youth titles respectively
Over the weekend, the 2024 season of the FIM EnduroGP World Championship officially closed on French soil, with riders equipped with Metzeler MCE 6 Days Extreme tyres winning five world titles.

The end-of-season haul sees Josep Garcia World Champion in the EnduroGP and Enduro1 classes and Andrea Verona, Brad Freeman and Manuel Verzeroli winners of Enduro2, Enduro3 and Youth titles respectively.

The town of Brioude was the scene of the final event of the season with a race masterfully organised for the occasion by the Brioude Motoclub in collaboration with Track Inspector Maurizio Micheluz.

The highly anticipated French GP race weekend began on Friday 13 September with the packed Super Test that officially kicked-off the final race weekend of the 2024 EnduroGP season.

The race course of the seventh round on French soil, where our riders battled it out, began with a 5.4 km long Cross Test set on a classic meadow of the French enduro tradition, alternating with a part of undergrowth. A 6.8 km Enduro Test followed, which was characterised by soft and muddy terrain made particularly difficult by the presence of some roots and, at the end, a special 1.8 km Extreme test, which was mostly natural but with some artificial sections.

Josep Garcia (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) was crowned World Champion on Saturday after winning the EnduroGP class. The second final position went to British rider Steve Holcombe (Honda RedMoto Racing Enduro Team) who finished second twice. An excellent second day for Brad Freeman (Team Beta Factory Enduro) saw him win the last day of competition. The final standings of the EnduroGP class sees in the first four positions all riders equipped with Metzeler MCE 6 Days Extreme tyres.

Josep Garcia (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) completed an extraordinary weekend by also winning the world title in the E1 class. The Spanish rider won Day One and climbed to the second step of the podium on the final day. The title of vice world champion goes to Steve Holcombe (Honda RedMoto Racing Enduro Team) who fought until the last special stage in an attempt to accomplish the feat.

With the title in his pocket from the previous GP in Wales, Andrea Verona (Gas Gas Factory Racing) won both race days in Brioude. It was an excellent performance on the first day of competition for Samuele Bernardini (Honda RedMoto Racing Enduro Team), too, with him taking a well-deserved second place on French soil. Nathan Watson (Team Beta Factory Enduro) crashed in the last special stage scheduled for Saturday. The final championship standings here also see riders with Metzeler tyres in the first three positions.

On Saturday, Brad Freeman (Team Beta Factory Enduro) was crowned World Champion in the E3 class. The British rider ended the world championship season with another splendid one-two.

In the Youth Enduro class, Pietro Scardina (Fantic Racing Junior Team) scored a splendid double and at the end of the French GP he was runner-up in the world championship. The reigning champion of the Youth class, Manuel Verzeroli, with the title already in his pocket over the French weekend, lined up in the Junior class with good results.

Completing the successes obtained with Metzeler tyres was the one obtained in the FIM Junior 1 Enduro World Cup by Kevin Cristino (Fantic Racing) who won the title by just one point at the expense of another Metzeler-equipped rider, Manolo Morettini (Honda RedMoto Racing Enduro Team) after a long and exciting race weekend.
