Information isn’t truth. Truth takes time, it takes work. It’s on us as young people to seek it out, speak it, and act on it.
Yesterday at the NSW Youth Summit hosted by @rosebjackson , I jumped up with @elfyscott @punterspolitics & @marlee.silva to chat to 100 young people about civic engagement and the importance of staving off apathy. One question led me to talk about truth — how issues like climate change, which factually impacts our chances of survival as a species, often get reduced to left-vs-right debates by the media and politicians.
This makes it confusing, even disheartening, to engage. But as young people, we can’t afford to be passive, we need to commit ourselves and empower each other to sift through the barrage of misinformation, disinformation and information that floods our phone screens, and get beyond it to truth. From there we can make truly informed decisions about our future.
On a personal note, it’s nice to still be considered “young” (I’ve been assured the cut-off is 35).
Hey it’s me, been a minute. Speaking of minutes, how much do you reckon the Australian housing market inflates every minute? #housingcrisis #inflation #housing
It’s Men’s Health Week. Let’s talk about the societal expectations placed on men, and how they harm us and those around us.
We can be strong in mind and in body without it being imposing.
We can be honest and open about our feelings, ask for help and offer it.
We can protect those we love without being controlling or dominating.
We can show courage and empathy, be reliable and accountable.
It’s time to get out of the Man Box, support our mates out of it, and resist the urge to get back in it.
The stats show everyone will be better off for it.
Dear, World Leaders ⬆️
Additional footage supplied graciously by @duaa_tuaima please follow her work and donate to her gofundme if you can, so that she can continue helping the beautiful children in this video and the many others like them.
Lest we forget means we don’t forget about the uncomfortable parts of our history too.
Some good news in (literal) sea of bad news. There is hope while there is time to act, even more hope thanks to @australianclimatecase be sure to stay tuned in! Cc: @gratafund 🐚
Spoiler: not if we fight for each other and the things in life that really matter. This is an excerpt from one of my favourite scenes in my doco talking with @damon.gameau about the future and what we should all define as a meaningful life.
Not the video I set out to make (it was supposed to be funny) but it’s the one that happened.
💵 New Gender Pay Gap data just dropped and it’s still not good enough. Some more myths debunked below ⬇️
❌ Myth 1: Women work less hours — As mentioned in the video, the GPG is calculated by annualised hours even of part time workers so women working less hours or taking maternity leave does not skew the results. The calcuations are based on men and women working FULL TIME HOURS.
❌ Myth 2: It’s because women take time to care for children — Already debunked above, but further to this we can see evidence of a gender pay gap as soon and young men and women leave university. WGEA higher education insights found men were paid more than women straight out of uni in 15 out of 19 fields. This is despite women making up 60% of the higher education cohort.
❌ Myth 3: Women are worse at asking for pay rise — Studies show men and women ASK for payrises at about the same rate, however men are more likely to actually get that payrise/promotion at a 31% success rate versus 21% success rate for women.
❌ Myth 4: It’s because men work in higher paying sectors — Debunked in video, the GPG appears in ALL sectors, even in “feminised industries”.

Neoliberalism sux. Did you know that the Australian public used to own Commbank, Telstra, Medibank and Qantas?
