Frank Sergi

Frank has been involved in the music Industry for the last 26 years playing drums and recording in many Australian studios. Some Bands and Artists he has played drums for are :-Desert Rats , The Rock Doctors , All Bar One / Knucklehead / Savino 92-93, Firehorse 93-94, The Australian Nirvana show, 94-96 Toasted ; Waif ; Turnip ; Trust ; 96-05 Joe Geia ; Ricardo Idagi (King kadu)

Frank began building acoustic treatment in 1983 with his drum room and rehearsal rooms. He moved to Melbourne Australia in 1989 where there is a vibrant music scene. Working in construction gave him skills to merge building and sound treatments together. In 1996 he built his first home studio which was a drum booth in a lounge room. Then in 1998 he built a second home studio that was called The Recording Lounge in a house with a drum room, amp rooms and mixing room. He built this studio to recorded bands that he was performing with and later for the public. In the same year he was involved in the construction and acoustics at Soundpark Studios which has 4 rehearsal rooms and a commercial studio with main recording space room , drum booth, vocal booth, machine room and control room.

Frank completed Certificate IV in Sound Production and Acoustics in 2000 and designed and built a home studio for Dj Peril of 1200 Techniques his studio is a production room with a vocal booth.

In the same year he built a home studio for engineer/producer Robbie Rowlands - The Beehive Studio which is a control room and vocal booth. In Nov 2004 Frank did some work for engineer/producer/drummer Marty Brown from Clare Bowditch and The Feeding Set.

Frank closed down his studio The Recording Lounge and move to Perth, Western Australia in 2005 and set up a small studio for himself called Mango Studio.

In 2007 he was asked to re-design and construct a studio for producer lowercaser called Little Seed Studios. It was an old corner deli attached to a house, the main room is a control / production room with a vocal booth inside this room, next to the lounge room is a drum room and the hallway doubles for a amp room. All rooms have XLR stage boxes that are connected to the control room XLR patch-bay. Little Seed studios is currently working with UK Drum and Bass artist Shimon and Mastering work for Hip Pop artist Mathos.

In September 2014 pianist Peter Johnstone of Perth WA contacted Frank to help with Acoustics and sound proofing to a suburban duplex with a room 6 meters X 4 meters and a Baby Grand.

This is what Peter had to say after we finished his room.

"I am a Professional pianist living in a small villa house in North Perth, and requested the services of Custom Acoustics and Pro Audio Solutions to help me with my situation. I do recording and YouTube videos in the luxury of my home, thanks to Frank who installed the Acoustic paneling to help diffuse the sound of my Grand piano that is normally too big for the room, and oversaw and installation of any sound-proofing to ensure I don't annoy the neighbours as I practice at all hours of the day and night.

Not only was I thoroughly pleased with the overall result, but one of Australias best Piano technicians was blown away by the acoustics in the room, and amazed at how quiet the room was from outside noise; given that I live only thirty yards away from the nearby highway."

In December of 2014 the last Job in WA before moving to sunny Noosa was Galatix Studios. completed production/mixing room with vocal booth in one month.
