The minister @gayletierneymp officially opened our new advanced manufacturing centre today @melbpoly. Thanks to @channel10au for filming and documenting the launch. Very proud of our apprentices Alex Papas, Mitchell Ramsey and Bailey Kennedy for presenting and highlighting what they are doing in industry. We had the CNC machines running and some 3+2 action on the HAAS VF2 & TRT210.

Running the Webster engine. Mark, the engineer teacher from the Navy, popped in with his Webster engines sometime back to demonstrate them to us. Mark makes these with the Australian Naval apprentices at HMAS Cerberus base here in Melbourne. It’s an excellent project that teaches fitting & machining principles to the students.

Super happy today. Finally got the 4th axis going on the Haas MM2 at work @melbpoly. Spent a couple of hours on Fusion360 working it out and testing the post processor. CNC machining billet aluminium iPad stands on the Haas VF2SS at work. The base was 3D printed on the Markforged Mk2 using Onyx with continuous infused carbon fibre.
Today I had the pleasure of unboxing a disk skimmer from @zebraskimmers from the USA. I was absolutely blown away by its performance removing the oil from the water. Thanks to @dimactoolingaustralia for supplying the test unit. Full YouTube video coming soon.

Making some 1/2” BSW studs using the Bison 5C collet chuck, Alfred Herbert coventry die head with Sutton chasers. The studs are for an old vintage engine.
