In 2020, during one of the most uncertain times in our lives, I founded Beam Magazine because I didn’t want the stories of women in business to ever go untold. While the world was changing and events were being cancelled, I knew that our community needed a platform that could shine the light on who they are, what they do, and how they are making an impact – no matter what was happening around us. 🌍

Over the last four years, I’ve witnessed so much growth, change, and resilience in women, and I missed sharing these incredible stories. So, I’m beyond excited to announce that Beam Magazine is coming back in January 2025! 🎉

What an incredible first 7 days of acquiring Freelancing Gems Membership.

Four years ago, Beam Awards was just a dream; a vision to create a stage where unsung business heroes could shine. From scribbles in my huge pile of notebooks to the dazzling lights on the Gold Coast, every step has been fuelled by a mission to celebrate the hard work and success of incredible Small Businesses across Australia.

At its core, Beam Awards is about more than just accolades; it's about building a community of like-minded individuals who are as passionate about genuine recognition as I am. It's about creating moments that not only award achievements but also spark inspiration and foster connections.

This year, we’ve taken our commitment to integrity to the next level. No sponsors were allowed to enter or judge, and no judges were allowed to sponsor or enter the competition. While it might seem standard, I've witnessed some events where these boundaries are not as firmly respected.

Being "busy" seems like everyone's status these days. But what are we all busy with?

Chasing the next paycheck can sometimes lead us off our true path.

I'm where you are, trying to juggle being at home with the kids and keeping my business dreams alive.

It's easy to lose sight of what we really want to achieve.

This might not be for everyone though my quick tips that assist me are:

🔥Remember your 'why': Think about why you started. I know this sounds cliche, however it’s what can guide you through the noise.

🔥Serve others: Focus on how your business helps people. This keeps things real. In a world full of people saying they are the next best thing, be authentic and show them how to succeed! We all love a good IG reel/tiktok

🔥Solve problems: Use your business to fix issues for your customers. It's rewarding and keeps you on track. Be the number one person when they need assistance, not to do the heavy lifting for them, more so to guide them to find the solutions. Our products//services don’t always have to be their answer.

🔥🔥 Don’t be so focused on doing everything the way it’s always been done. Maybe changing it up can be the key your looking for🔥🔥

What about home life? Everyday is different in my house. However here are four great tips to remember, especially when life at home is hectic:

⭐️Prioritise: What needs your attention first? It's okay if not everything gets done at once. Keeping your kids alive can definitely be first on the list haha

⭐️Set clear goals: Even small ones. Achieving these can give us a huge boost.

⭐️Seek support: You're not in this alone. Community can be a game changer. I’m always here for you! Send me a message anytime.

⭐️Take breaks: It's okay to pause. Sometimes stepping back gives us a clearer view. It’s you competing with you! Slow and steady does win the race.

Remember, it's not about doing everything. It's about doing the right things for you and your business. Let's focus on making our business journey meaningful and fulfilling, even in the busiest times.
