Our focus is crafting genuine storytelling with stylistic and unique approaches. We value innovative creativity with purposeful & imaginative process work when constructing any film project. We believe that technology is

not the leading focus when producing narrative film; rather we try to create an organic, performance based approach in our quest to create honest and truthful imitations of life. Members of our production team bring numerous screen and stage acting principles to the projects, deriving from education – based backgrounds. We hope that the importance we hold on truthful performance work translates into rich authenticity.

We are very late to post on our socials lately! 🫠
But… it’s never too late to share how proud we are of team Violett’s efforts!
Our cast & crew are not only incredibly talented, but they are all wonderful humans to work with. 🤩

Violett took home the Innovation award for Narrative Feature Film with a budget under 1mil.
And Valentina Blagojevic who plays Violett, took home the award for outstanding achievement in performance under 18yrs! 🥳

And was nominated for outstanding achievement in Production Design.

A massive thankyou to awards & for such a wonderful event. ⭐️
Congratulations to all the winners & nominees!
It was such a vibe to see all the different corners of a great industry coming together to celebrate each other.
Shout out to our friend Ian Hale of The Backlot Perth & HALO Films who won the Independent Spirit award. Ian is a huge supporter of local indi film makers & is a credit to our ever growing community. ❤️

It was also great to see Dr Russell’s Imaginarium - Doco win the award for Innovation in a web series. We sourced a lot of things from Dr Russell for Violett, he is an absolute legendary human. 🧐

And huge congrats to for taking out Best Australian actress for her stunning performance in Violett: Movie Amazing job 👏👏
What an epic festival; full of amazing artists, pitch perfect programming by Bryn Tilly & a high calibre of films.

Our Story

Playtime Motion Pictures (previously known as Playtime Film & Theatre Productions) are a Perth based company that have brought film and theatre productions together. Our past productions have included “Lenny” and “Widow”

In 2019, Playtime began working towards their first feature film production, “The Xrossing” (currently in post production)

Over the next few years, Playtime Motion Pictures will be committed to producing feature films, with several scripts currently in consideration.

We hope to help support our local community and further grow the Western Australian film industry.
