The end of an era! ✨

We're approaching four years in our gorgeous little Guildford office, and come this October, we’re moving on. If you drive past now you'll see a very large FOR LET sign!

As our team has gotten bigger, we’ve outgrown this space and our needs have changed as we move to a permanent hybrid setup. Taking this office was a big thing for me personally, so I’m a little sad to see it go, but it’s time for a change.

From 1 October we’ll be based in the City – a change we’re all really excited about! It means easier meetings with clients, more networking opportunities and easier access to Zara! πŸ›οΈ

We’re so delighted to have won the tender to create and implement the marketing and PR strategy for WAnderland, the brand new tourism portal from the Western Australian Museum.

Visit WAnderland is the first site of its kind – bringing together more than 1,000 collections and items from 220 amazing places across regional Western Australia.

It features traditional collecting organisations like museums, galleries, libraries and archives, but also includes private collections, visitor centres, Aboriginal cultural centres and even a race track!

It’s packed with hidden treasures and tales - from the cultured to the kitsch and everything in between. The website opens a doorway to WA's fascinating regional collections - inspiring you to hit the road and experience them for yourself. Discover the collections on your device and add things that intrigue you to an online itinerary planner, building a bespoke bucket list for your next real-life adventure.

We've just wrapped up our summer campaign for Visit Mandurah and what a pleasure it's been to help promote this gorgeous destination!

We worked closely with the marketing team and General Manager to create a multichannel campaign to encourage visitation this summer.

The activity included the creation of new video and imagery
assets with Osprey Creative, outdoor advertising on billboards at key locations throughout Perth, unskippable ads via 7Plus on demand TV, advertising campaigns across social media and Google, pre-roll advertising on You Tube, organic social media campaign spanning feeds, Reels and Stories, media partnerships with PerthNow Perth is OK and Buggybuddys and a consumer competition to win a weekend away in Mandurah!

There's SO much happening in Mandurah at the moment and so many new attractions, tours and restaurants, so if you've not been for a while, I'd highly recommend a visit! πŸ’™

Tomorrow is our last day in the office and man are we all ready for a break. It's been a whirlwind of a year in so many ways, especially with the ever-changing border situation here in WA.

We work with so many tourism clients and this year has arguably been tougher than 2020 for a lot of them. I cannot wait, on both a personal and professional level to open our borders next year and begin the next chapter.

I want to say a huge thanks to my team (past and present!) Elissa, Danica and Teodora who have worked so hard this year. I genuinely love coming to the office and working with all of you. Thanks for the laughs and the passion and talent you bring to Wanderlust. I couldn't do it without you!

Also a huge thank you to our incredible clients who have trusted us with their brand, their products and their marketing dollars this year. It's always so exciting to see our campaigns go live, and today was no exception. We've been working with the team at Sightseeing Pass Australia in conjunction with Tourism Western Australia to launch The Gift Of Travel. 🎁

The campaign is designed to encourage people to give a gift or experience this year rather than the same tired old presents.

I've long been a fan of this type of gift - no waste, no junk, just amazing experiences for people I love. It's a great way to get behind our WA operators who've had a tough 18 months - so it's win win!

We've created a beautiful landing page for the campaign and will be running a range of social media ads over the coming weeks, so watch this space for more gift inspo! πŸ’—

Introducing a new client for Wanderlust Communications, RedSands Campers.

We started working with the RedSands Campers team in September this year. We have known Adam and Lucy the business owners for a while and have worked together on a couple of other projects for Australia’s Golden Outback, but we’re thrilled to be working directly with them now.

We’re working with the team to manage their Facebook and Instagram accounts – helping to elevate their brand and really connect with potential customers on social. Alongside the organic strategy, we’re also running some targeted advertising on social to help push people through the purchasing journey. We’re also working on their email marketing strategy, writing copy for monthly EDMs and setting up some media partnerships and influencer marketing opportunities to help increase word of mouth about their campers.

Introducing another of our beloved clients, Great Temptations.

Great Temptations is a national bakery brand based in Perth, WA. They make a huge range of delicious cakes, muffins, slices and cupcakes, which are available in Coles, 7 Eleven and independent stores across the country. We’ve worked with the team for many years and assist them with their digital marketing strategy. This includes social media marketing across Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest as well as a paid ads strategy. Every year we organise a content shoot to capture new products and get some on-brand fresh content. We also write copy for their website, consumer EDMs and blogs.

Great Temptations have recently started producing Cadbury Cupcakes and Muffins, so we’re currently working with them on the national product launch. Watch this space for news about this amazing new range – if you love Cadbury brands, you’re going to love what’s coming! πŸ’œ

I'm still processing 2020 and here we are, staring down the barrel of Christmas 2021!
We're deep into a number of Summer projects for clients right now, so it's going to be all hands on deck until the end of the year.

I'm already looking forward to some time off between Christmas and New Year, and then I always enjoy January as it tends to be quieter in terms of projects, so I can really focus on strategy and bigger picture stuff for the new year.

I can't wait for the changes that 2022 will bring, most noticeably the WA border opening so our tourism clients can start welcoming interstate and international tourists again.... and so I can be reunited with my family in the UK. 🧑

If you're actively engaged with digital marketing, you'll know how quickly you burn through content. It can be hard for brands to keep up, and to stay motivated to create their next piece of content.

I stumbled across this great periodic table for content marketing from Econsultancy and thought it might be helpful for all the content marketers out there! A brilliant visual guide to content strategy, creation, implementation and measurement. I find if the creative juices are running dry, using a guide like this is a good way to ensure you're thinking strategically, and get some new ideas flowing.

Get to know our clients

Meet our longest-standing client, WA based regional tourism organisation, Australia's Golden Outback. Affectionately referred to as AGO in the industry, they promote the beautiful Golden Outback region which runs from the rugged Gascoyne Murchison, through the Wheatbelt and Goldfields and down to Esperance and the Fitzgerald Coast. Fun fact, AGO were Wanderlust Communications’ very first client way back in 2015 (when Outback Jac was the CEO) and we’ve worked together ever since.

We manage the organic social media for AGO across Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest. Over the years we’ve grown an incredibly active online community – with some passionate and engaged followers. We manage the paid social activity for AGO, creating nurturing, layered campaigns that take people right through the customer journey from brand awareness/dreaming right through to planning and booking. We also look after their email marketing, content creation projects and influencer marketing as well as copywriting for their website, blog and brochures.

We absolutely love working with Marcus, Gabby and Kelly. They are such a passionate group of people who love trying something new and work so hard to support their members.

We absolutely loved working with Brighten Interiors to create their new branding and website. Simon and Steff are super passionate and it was such an honour to bring their vision to life. We created a new visual identity for Brighten Interiors that reflected the quality and luxury that Simon brings to his craft. We then created a new brand bible for the business so they have guidelines to maintain their brand throughout their business journey. We then designed and built their brand new wesite, complete with copywriting and threw in a couple of email signatures and business cards for good measure!
