Candidates Face Off in Thriving Community Gathering at Mundaring's Hub of the Hills

Last night (Wednesday, September 27), the community came together, as 40 locals gathered for the Mundaring Decides - Public Candidates Debate at the Hub of the Hills. It was a night filled with passion, ideas, and engagement.

We want to extend our thanks to all the candidates who attended, discussing their plans and engaging with the community.

Thank you to our Resident and Ratepayer Progress Associations, in particular Joan Quinn, Tom Burbidge, Vince Holdsworth, Debra Bishop, and Freddie Hendriksen. Your help made this event a great success.

But, most importantly, thank you, our wonderful community, for showing up and participating. Your presence, your questions, and your commitment to shaping the future of Mundaring is what makes us a unique community.

DESPERATE SATTERLEY TO RE-LAUNCH DOOMED HILLS PLAN –
AT HEIGHT OF BUSHFIRE SEASON

In what appears to be a desperate measure, Satterley is dragging its dangerous and destructive North Stoneville SP34 plan for the Perth Hills back for re-assessment, by the same local community which rejected it in record numbers almost four years ago.

By Debra Bishop Monday, 7, November, 2022 2:00pm In what appears to be a desperate measure, Satterley is dragging its dangerous and destructive North Stoneville SP34 plan for the Perth Hills back for re-assessment, by the same local community which rejected it in record numbers almost four years ago...

UNBELIEVABLY, HERE WE GO AGAIN...🙄
Despite 31 years' relentless Community opposition to urbanisation of the Anglican Diocese's 'North $toneville' 555-hectare Hills landholding, $atterley is throwing up an 'amended' 'North $toneville' plan seeking public response and WA Planning Commission approval.
This strongly suggests $atterley fears they'll lose if the matter goes to a full Tribunal hearing (SAT).
So what does $atterley do? They're coming back to the very Community they've offended, ignored and ridiculed over 4 long years, and who wrote more than 1,100 submissions REJECTING 'North $toneville'.
In typical $atterley style, their 'tweaked' plan will be thrust on us Jan-March, at the height of the 2023 bushfire season... and as we commemorate anniversaries of the Wooroloo, and the Stoneville, Parkerville and Mt Helena Bushfires, again demonstrating $atterley's ignorance and insensitivity to our Community's bushfire realities.
Get ready for BIG Community action!

1 Year of Connecting our Community...

On this day, a year ago Mundaring Media Network was born, with the livestreaming of the 2021 Shire of Mundaring Local Government Elections. It was the first time in history that locals could watch a Shire Election from their living rooms or on the other side of the world.

Over the year, MMN brought the only frequent live updates out of the Chidlow ICC for the Boxing Day Chidlow/Beechina Fire in December, brought numerous community meetings live including Save Perth Hills Inc., conducted a pre recorded interview with every federal candidate for this year's election in Hasluck and delivered live results through the federal election night. Also in that time, MMN covered the East Ward By Election.

MMN would like to thank Debra Bishop, Paige McNeil, Peter Brazier and Joan Quinn for being a part of our panels and also thank you Debra for your help and advice.
