The Infrared Network Podcast /// EP215 Bismodi (Ruban Hawke-Linsley)///
-------------------------------------
BISMODI, also known as Ruban Hawke-Linsley, is a music producer and DJ hailing from Perth, Western Australia.

Within the Perth DJ scene, Bismodi has carved out a niche within the Trap/Wave genre, while blending multiple genres into his sets and music to create high energy and heavy bass.

Bismodi has always been a music lover and his liked songs on Spotify is a testament to that. If you put it on shuffle, there would be over 73 different genres (according to his Spotify wrapped).

This originally made it challenging to develop his sound, as each song he made was very different. In 2021, Bismodi found his current sound and has been developing it further over the years.

Flash forward to 2023, Bismodi decided to take the next step and pursue the DJ side of things. Applying for Yourshot, getting in, learning to DJ in 6 weeks, coming runner up and then proceeding to play at multiple venues around Perth (The Court, The Rechabite and Jack Rabbit slims, to name a few).

His first gig was on support for Don Darkoe’s Predator EP Launch. Around the same time, he had released his song called Warp.
This song was turning heads, including Fuxwithit Blog (Toronto) and What So Not.

Among thousands of comments on What So Not's post about who should support him on his tour, he found Bismodi, which led to getting multiple shout outs from What So Not on instagram.

The 2023 slot went to someone else, but What So Not had future plans for Bismodi.

Flash forward to 2024 and Bismodi got the call to support What So Not on the Dance Dance Revival Tour, opening for the big man himself and doing a B4B with him and others on the lineup.

This opportunity meant Bismodi was finally able to play his full discography for the first time and played to his largest crowd yet. Again, turning heads in the Perth scene and abroad.

As for the rest of 2024, Bismodi has multiple Flips he plans to release and a couple more originals. With a VIP of his song Waste My Time set to come out Friday (20/09/24).
