Repost ☀️ @matrescence.by.design We spend money, a lot of money postpartum… on baby things, on food, on internet programs for sleep before we should, supplement teas that we don’t drink & subscriptions to things we don’t always use. But what if we paid money for love, connection, support, education, validation, kindness, community & rest. What if we spent those hours scrolling on our rest? What if we stopped trying to ‘fix’ all the things & be productive when we could almost sit in the discomfort of allowing things to happen?
I want to have a do over, I would love to shake the mama I was in those early days and tell her that she deserves kindness and help, she can say yes to the offers of assistance… it’s not weak and it doesn’t make her bad at her new job. Can we see the strength in accepting all these offers of care… can we spend not only money on ourselves but also time. We don’t get it back but it’s our most valued commodity.

Lets break it down, you are all baby really needs.. not all the bells and whistles marketed to buy.
As an IBCLC I really encourage all Mums to prepare for breastfeeding. Its more common now to prepare actively for birth - which is amazing!
Lets continue that learning path though, and grow in knowledge and skills before baby arrives!
