Earlier this year we created a short-form video to celebrate World Field Epidemiology Day.

Hunter New England Health's 'Field Epidemiology in Action' team has been documenting and filming aspects of their fieldwork over the last few years, so there was stacks of footage to use to create a broad picture of the work they do.

One of the great parts of this project was collaborating with local Field Epidemiologists in Solomon Islands and PNG to narrate the video - the voices belong to those who are on the front line, delivering high quality care and responding to outbreaks and strengthening surveillance systems that detect public health threats.

In this age of Covid where the word "epidemiologist" has become more familiar to us, it's inspiring to gain a visual glimpse into the world of those who are responding to the pandemic every day, and have been doing so long before Covid was around.

Check out our highlights video we captured for The University of Newcastle's International Agent Familiarisation trip 2021!

The week was jam-packed - visiting locations across the City of Newcastle, and gaining insight into a broad range of degrees and program offerings at the university. The tour was capped off in the Hunter Valley, complete with wine-making at Tulloch Wines, and a farewell dinner.

It was great to be able to showcase our city and university, seeing through the fresh eyes of the Education Agents who work hard to infuse a global presence into the student body in Newcastle.

Oh and look out for the shot of the tram from behind - that took some serious reconnaissance work, a story for another time!
