Alpine Radio was recognised as an Official Emergency Services Broadcaster on 25 January 2011. A fine achievement as some stations wait years.

Alpine FM is a Community Radio Station, based in Mount Beauty, in beautiful North East Victoria, broadcasting in the Upper Kiewa Valley on 96.5FM and in the Ovens Valley on 92.9FM The Alpine Community Radio project was initiated in August 2001 by Mary Smith who called a public meeting to gauge community support. A steering committee was formed, incorporation occured on 2 November 2001 and a tempor

ary licence was allocated on 25 July 2002. Regular mock street broadcasts, sessions at the local Country Club and general fundraising kept the project public. On a shoe-string budget the station went to air on the 23 August 2003 in a rented shop in the main street of Mount Beauty, Victoria which is located 100 km south of Albury/Wodonga. On 26 June ’04 the station was relocated to a new home in the Mount Beauty Visitor Information Centre Precinct on the Kiewa Valley Highway. The station was granted its Permanent Broadcasting Licence on 24 February 2005 and took effect on 1 March 2005 after broadcasting for only 18 months. Alpine Radio 96.5 FM, 92.9 FM & 94.5 FM is a community radio station that is independent, not-for-profit, community owned and operated and is run completely by volunteers. Kiewa Valley Community Radio Association Inc. is the incorporation name and broadcasts as “Alpine Radio 96.5 FM (Kiewa Valley), 92.9 FM (Ovens Valley) & 94.5 FM (Harrietville)”. Mission Statement — “Alpine Radio is a community FM station which encourages community participation, provides diverse, informative and entertaining programs to the Kiewa and Ovens Valleys, and is an official emergency services broadcaster.”

Tune in tomorrow morning between 10am to 12 noon as Caitlin Frawley presents her first Spotlight of 2025 on… Bryan Adams.
Adams is known for his many hits in the 80s and 90s with albums from Cuts Like a Knife, Reckless and a number of film soundtracks from “Robin Hood: The Prince of Theives” and “A Night in Heven”. Bryan Adams is the first Canadian musician to earn a Diamond certified album in Canada with Reckless selling over 10 million copies in the country. Some of the songs that Caitlin will be playing include: “Cuts Like a Knife”, “This Time”, “Run to You”, “Heaven”, “Summer of ‘69”, “(Everything I Do) I Do It for You”, and his most recent song “So Happy it Hurts”.

Dean Martin known as “The King of Cool” was one of the most successful entertainers on film, radio and especially television. He first partnered with legendary comedian Jerry Lewis in 1946.
He also released multiple successful songs from “That’s Amore”, “Volare”, “Everybody Loves Somebody”, and my personal favourite “I Can’t Take a Lot of Pride in what I Am”.
I hope everyone enjoys the music of this legendary crooner and former member of the Rat Pack.

Formed in Sweden in 1986, the duo consisting on Marie Frendriksson and Per Gessle, produced some of the greatest hits of the late 80s and the early 90s including; “Joyride”, “The Look”, “It Must’ve Been Love”, “Dangerous”, “Fading Like a Flower” and the legendary song “Listen to Your Heart”.
The duo have four number one singles on the Hot 100 and multiple top 10 hits. They have won multiple accolades in Sweden and around the world. I hope you enjoy the story of this phenomenal duo.

Alpine FM Kiewa & Ovens Valleys is holding its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday the 13th of November, at 7:30 pm. It will be held at the Mt Beauty Senior Citizens Centre, located in Tawonga Crescent, Mount Beauty.

Everybody is welcome to attend. A light supper will be provided, as well as tea and coffee. We hope to see you there.

Formed in Sheffield in 1976. The band have sold more than 100 million records worldwide and have many hit singles that Caitlin will play from “Photograph” to “Rock of Ages” to “Hysteria” to “Let’s Get Rocked” to Armageddon it” and their most iconic song “Pour Some Sugar on Me”. Their reputation as a hard rock band have spellbound audiences globally as a live staple. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019. Sit back relax and listen to some incredible hard rock music.

EXCITING NEWS!!!! "BEATS AND BANTER" are back in town!!! Tonight (Tuesday 8th Oct) at 6pm is the 11th radio episode with guest host Charlie Brown!

The ladies have been around the country over Winter collecting entertaining content, from visiting Helen in her new home in Geelong, meeting incredible Elders in Iga Warta, 4wding the Googs Track SA, cruising the Toranafest in Maitland to skiing in Perisher! They have met the greatest people, had a blast on the way and even walked with Dinosaurs!

On tonight's show, they have a very special local musician, Charlie Brown, who is also one of the best photographers of our region. Charlies stories are fascinating, and his down to earth personality makes this show very entertaining. You will listen to Charlie sing, play guitar and harmonica in the studio tonight, so don't miss out!

Springsteen has sold over 140 million records globally and is the 27th highest selling musician in the world. Caitlin will play a multitude of smash hit songs from “Born to Run”, “Dancing in the Dark”, “Born in the USA”, “Glory Days”, “Human Touch” to his Oscar winning song “Streets of Philadelphia” and later releases “Western Stars” and “Ghosts”.

Had a great time at the Harrietville Bush Markets this morning, at our Outside Broadcast, Easter Sunday. Photos show Mani and Asha who played violins live on air for us, Uli, who played clarinet and Berti on the trumpet. Thanks to Ken, our Audio tech extraordinaire, Cheryl Long at her first OB, Rolf, Rob and Scottie. And there was a huge Duck Race down the Ovens River, 500 ducks, a sight to behold!!
