Only in the outback. While driving from Walgett to Lightning Ridge, I saw about five dead brown kings, lizards and one attempting to cross the road.

Great to see 80 year old Misha still loves the chase of opal.

Back in Lightning Ridge with a dear friend of mine Mr Misha Dabeditch. I’m going to ask him some questions about his life being an opal miner.

2 years ago today I interviewed and photographed opal miner ‘Smurfy’ for the book and short film.

One of my all time favourite films is playing now on SBS. The film is based in an outback opal mining town and a unwell girl who has imaginary friends. This clip shows actor Vince colosimo @cenzcolos1 in court accused of being a “Ratter”. A ratter is someone who steals from another opal miners claim. ❤️
