Its been a privilege to get to know you as part of the making of The Giants.

We have learnt so much just observing you move through this extraordinary life of yours: work hard, stay positive, call things out, remain kind and curious and… do something! That twinkle in your eye is a superpower.
As the line from anarchist/feminist Emma Goldman you like to quote « if I can’t dance, it’s not my Revolution »!

Like so many Australians we are just grateful for what you have achieved in these eight decades and hopeful to see the many seeds you planted along the way continue to blossom 🌸🌼🌻

Sold-out Premiere of THE GIANTS in India at the gorgeous Liberty cinema in Mumbai - where 700 guests discovered the extraordinary story of Bob Brown & Australia’s ancient forests. The response was overwhelming and we heard from .eff festival programming director that “many people were sobbing because they felt so moved and inspired by the film and Bob Brown.” THE GIANTS ended up winning the “Best Film of the Festival” award which was kindly accepted on behalf of by Ayaskant Das, leading environmental journalist and key contributor to Adani Watch 💪🙏

What a thrill! ⚡️The Giants just won Best Film, Environment 2024!!!!

We are over the moon that about Bob Brown and the forest has struck a chord with Canadian audiences! To share our work in such a beautiful natural setting surrounded by a great audience and talented filmmakers was a highlight. Winning this fabulous prize is the icing on the cake! 🏔️ (no pun intended).

Thanks to everyone involved in making Banff such an awesome festival. Thanks to everyone back home who were part of this journey. And to Bob and his many collaborators for being inspirations that transcend borders.

Whether in Australia or in Canada, ancient forests are 🌲🙏🌳

The Giants aka ‘As Gigantes’ will screen in Rio as part of , Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival from Oct 3-13.

Interestingly the film was also selected to compete in the Felix Prize - which presents ten of the best films with compelling LGBTI narratives 🌈🙏

We are hoping the screening will inspire the audience to join the fight for forest - Brazil is with Australia a big deforestation hotspot, and the Amazon rainforest, like the Tarkine, is actively targeted by both mining and logging operations. With South American forests going up in flames, the time for us to all stand up for the trees is now 🌳🌳🌳
