Trace Decay’s foray into melancholy pop explores a slightly darker side of the human mind, crafting hauntingly beautiful spaces with unique melodic undertones.
@_tracedecay is a project to explore deeper lyrics and a chance to resonate on more of an emotional level, an outlet away from the synth lines and electronic music that Jordan Depas had been producing for years.
Along the way the project has become a beautiful blend of both Jordan’s electronic and indie rock influences.
Trace Decay has recently released tracks ‘Paradigm’ and ‘Radicalize’ and has an upcoming EP to look out for !
“Paradigm was born out of this need and want for social interaction, detailing a romanticism of a night out”

Gold Coast trio @wearegreatesthits , have shared their latest EP ‘Volume Two’ and groove-laden single 'Spicy' alongside a delightful visual that will have you up and dancing like nobody's watching!
Lead singer, songwriter and guitarist Ryan Cooper explains the themes behind new single ‘Spicy’, “I was never the super confident kid. I particularly remember watching others shred up the dance floor, while I watched from the side. I had all the desire, but never the boldness to back it up. I think we’ve all felt the pressure of onlooking eyes, which has stopped us stepping out into something, or letting our true selves loose. “Spicy” is about revisiting those feelings, recognising the fire in your belly, and throwing caution to the wind.” The colourful artwork for the single was created by artist, Alan Fears.
A little live rendition of ‘Avocado Latte’ to get ya ready for tomorrow’s episode with @yazmindimusic !!!!
“A love song for Far North Queensland which I wrote while working at a café in Melbourne, homesick! Raw and honest, a song straight from my heart, yet tongue in cheek teasers playing with Melbourne's city stereotypes.” Yazmindi
A unique quality of this track is the dual influences: written in Melbourne, and recorded in North Queensland with renowned producer Mark Myers (The Middle East, Emma Louise). Yazmindi speaks of this saying,
“It was so special recording ‘Avocado Latte’ back home in North Queensland, surrounded by people I grew up with and love. I had always dreamed of producing music with Mark from growing up listening to his band's music, The Middle East. Everything felt natural and flowed smoothly in the studio and I had so much fun bringing the final version to life, exactly as I had envisioned it, in my head and my heart.” Yazmindi
Twice Over is a duet with ARIA-nominated pop artist and fellow Melburnian Gretta Ray. Written in fifteen minutes over a weekend away in Sydney in 2018, "Twice Over" is the tender story of Melbourne indie artist @sebszabomusic 's real-life ”Before Sunrise" moment - meeting and falling in love with a stranger, and the beginnings of the long-distance relationship at the heart of his debut EP, “Staring Out the Windows”.
After meeting at a gig in 2020 and becoming fast friends, Seb refashioned the song as a duet to include Gretta Ray as a featured vocalist, with their musical chemistry sparkles from the opening notes.
With delicate, smooth vocals and sweeping guitars and strings anchored by intimate acoustic guitar, it is a song for hopeless romantics and cynics alike, describing a renewed faith in true love, and the magic of reopening your heart to someone after years of keeping it closed.
NSW South Coast singer-songwriter @joemungovan returns today with his fresh Summery tune ‘Like That’. Which features on his new long awaited debut album ‘A Flower In The Weeds’.
Produced by Joe Mungovan at a picturesque studio in Kangaroo Valley, ‘Like That’ stays true to Joe’s indie rock roots but is still laden with infectious pop vibes and melodies. The new single and debut album were mixed by ARIA Award winning producer/engineer Tim Carr (Matt Corby, Julia Stone) and mastered by long term collaborator Joe Carra (Courtney Barnett, The Teskey Brothers).
In what could be one of the funniest videos this year, Mungovan channels his inner actor creating different personalities that rival videos by Polish Club, Dune Rats or DZ Deathrays.
“This is by far the most ridiculous music video I have ever made. I came up with the idea randomly one day and took it to Mikey and Christina and we kind of just rolled with it. The process of making this record was solitary as I recorded most of the songs while living by myself. We played with the idea of ‘Joe Mungovan’ as a 4-piece band and the personalities each ‘band member’ would embody. The idea’s got more and more outrageous as we went on. There was glitter, hair wire, make up and at one stage my eyelids were accidentally glued together. It was filmed at the house I grew up in.”

A new era beckons for @psychedelicprncrumpets and to kick it off, the Perth group presents the new single ‘Lava Lamp Pisco’.
Fuzzed out riffs that capture the wild essence of Psychedelic Porn Crumpets perfectly, ‘Lava Lamp Pisco’ marks a fine return for the band, who were only just thrilling audiences earlier in 2021 with their fourth album, SHYGA! The Sunlight Mound.
As with all Psychedelic Porn Crumpets’ music, ‘Lava Lamp Pisco’ originated in the kaleidoscopic creative brain of songwriter Jack McEwan, before being fleshed out further in his home studio. The sounds of ‘Lava Lamp Pisco’ take Psychedelic Porn Crumpets into slightly different territory, anchoring things in a heavier guitar-centric space.
To accompany the single, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets collaborated with Bristol based animator Gina Tratt for the clip’s official video. Matching the vibe of the song, the ‘Lava Lamp Pisco’ video falls in line with the fantastical nature fans have come to love and respect about the band’s output.
