The home of Mackay's own Hello Rainbow and newly released Pussilldoo. Oombee Woombee Books is a small, independent publisher of children's books that educate and entertain. The words of Rhonda's first picture book, 'Hello Rainbow', came to life in the passenger seat of her husband's ute on an empty-nested road trip to Cooktown. The words would stay hidden away in a notebook until four years later,

when a conversation with her eldest daughter and the subsequent chain of events led her to a Brisbane self-publishing company and the talented illustrator, Trevor Salter. Rhonda lives in a purple house on a small farm north of Mackay. She shares the farm with her husband of three decades and a cattle dog called Boof (who just happens to be scared of cows!) There may have also been sightings of a certain red cat....

Rhonda’s third book, Alpaca Prue was launched in July 2019. Illustrated by Mackay artist, Rob Wiezel and again printed by Payne Print Mackay, Rhonda is proud that her third book was produced locally.
