The festival aims to encourage creativity by offering a festival outlet for a composers best work. Our intention is to make selection of a song or songs for the festival a highlight in the career of the composer and a springboard to national and international exposure for their work

s. Our goal is to have a register of Tasmanian works from which local, interstate and international musicians can select a piece to play and submit an expression of interest to perform the piece at future festivals. We want to encourage musicians around the world to play Tasmanian compositions.
