Vale Shane Warne and Rod Marsh. Arguably two of the greatest cricketers to walk this Earth. I was very fortunate to meet these two over time and they were very kind and had plenty of time to talk. Such a shock and my thoughts and prayers go out to their families during this time.

Horrifying scenes just outside of the Hobart CBD this afternoon, where an uncontrolled bushfire threatened homes near Proctors Road in Dynnyrne, just footsteps away from Sandy Bay.

An emergency warning was issued for the fire at 3:23 PM where residents were ordered to evacuate, which has since been downgraded.

Several fire bombing aircraft and nine fire trucks were utilized in the attack against the bush blaze, and more than 750 homes in the nearby area lost power as a result of the fire.

A TFS spokesman said the fire traveled "quite quickly up the hill", but says a recent fuel reduction burn in the area may have slowed its progress.

The fire remains at Watch and Act level

: Tasmanian Public Health say passengers onboard a "boutique cruise ship" that arrived in Hobart today are being placed in isolation following a passenger testing positive for COVID-19.

The cruise left Hobart on 27 January for a 10-day cruise, during which it reportedly did not leave Tasmanian waters.

A Public Health spokesperson says the passenger tested positive on a RAT on the last day of the cruise and is experiencing mild symptoms.

Passengers and crew will be required to isolate in a quarantine hotel for seven days as close contacts as they do not have their own suitable premises.
