Haven't done much fishing this week with this average weather, so here's one of my more unusual catches from a while back.
A chinaman fish which I initially thought was as a decent mangrove jack. It was hunting along a rockwall in the Gold Coast Broadwater.
I went for it, and it hit...hard. The fight was scary. Caught on a thin strip of chicken 🐔

Its flesh is considered to be excellent eating, however in Queensland and Vanuatu it is considered dangerous, and Australia bans its sale, due to the risk of ciguatera poisoning.
