As a workaholic, I know how hard it can be to switch off, but this past weekend, Anthony and I did just that. We made a spontaneous trip to Adelaide to catch a live comedy show—so much fun! Plus, I got to visit the beach, my soul’s happy place.

Growing up in Fremantle, I was at the beach daily, and being inland now makes me miss it even more. This weekend was the perfect reminder: no matter how busy life gets, taking time to recharge is essential.

Yes we also MC Events!

We were honoured to offer our time this weekend to MC "The Riverland Relay for Life 2024".

An amazing annual event for The Riverland.

The event raised close to 90k for Cancer Council SA for Cancer research.

Well done to all the local legends involved, teams, volunteers and sponsors!

🎙️ Today, I got some feedback that left me grinning. After completing a remote self-record session with email directives, the client asked me to “sound less like a girl.”

Now, after 20 years in the industry, I’ve adapted to all kinds of requests—more energy, less energy, a touch of sass, a little more warmth—but this was a new one! Naturally, I had to wonder: did they want a male voice, or were they hoping for something a bit more gender-neutral? 🤔

Not one to shy away from a challenge, I gave it my best shot and couldn’t resist trying out an AI-generated pic of me as a man to see what I might look like! (Spoiler alert: I’d rock it. 😉)

In all seriousness, interpreting feedback and bringing a client’s vision to life—even when the instructions are a little cryptic—is what we do best at Pookies Production. Maybe next time, I’ll just pull out my “baritone” voice and see what happens!
