The latest edition of Waste Management Review is available now.

What does circular look like?

Australia is transitioning to a . Some organisations have made measurable commitments, some are taking their first steps, while others are embarking on bold plans that will redefine the way materials are dealt with.

reDirect Recycling has built its entire ethos on being able to see the big picture for . Since its inception, reDirect Recycling has invested in infrastructure to produce new products from old and return them to market.

In this edition’s cover story, we look at how everything about the business, right down to the name, is aimed toward , closing the loop on and conserving the for future generations.

It’s future generations that will also benefit from a project on Melbourne’s northern fringe. Driven by a belief it can do better, Hanson is creating a Resource Park to help tackle the challenges and become a leader in the circular economy.

It will have some tough competition from up north, as Australia’s favourite holiday playground eyes off a new mantle of leading the country in sustainable The City of Gold Coast is proposing a $1.6 billion integrated and precinct that will feature eight individual facilities.

It’s a bold vision, but Mayor Tom Tate says the city sees its role as being beyond just emptying people’s wheelie bins and burying the contents in a hole in the ground. And the community is behind the plan.

Also harnessing people power, Repurpose It is reprising its popular online series for a second series.
If these projects have sparked your curiosity about the circular economy, we’ve got plenty more stories to keep you informed.
