Bonus points to anyone who can name the turned wooden rod up back.

Hint: rhymes with a certain aquatic pokemon ;)

Thought we'd share the best indoor flytrap we've ever used; one that requires no pesticides, and are easily made. That's a couple of days worth of flies in there, and that's with flyscreens! Satisfying in a morbid kinda way...

Just cut a plastic bottle, flip the top, add water and honey/wine/fruit etc. Best thing is, you can still recycle the bottle later!

Anyways, thought some others might benefit from this during the stinky heatwave =/

Got our saw-dusty mitts on some well seasoned rose sheoak (Allocasuarina torbulosa), purportedly a "rare and exotic" oz timber prized by turners and woodworkers (at least according to wikipedia). Will be doing some trials this week to see how it handles. Fails are immiment, but what better way to learn than reading and experimentation?

So far, so good, but man is it tough!

pieces of treen for tomorrow's , including the long-awaited straining spoon, and a surprise range of novelty spatulas (the heart was super popular!). But you'll have to visit the stall to see what the other shapes are ;)

What's life without a few surprises that aren't on the internet? XD

Found some figured Burdekin Plum! Traded from a workshop teacher, this beautiful timber is rare as hen's teeth (we normally have to wait until travelling to Townsville to find any, and even then it's a lottery). These well seasoned pieces come from a tree that's faced fire!
T'will make for pretty treenware :)

In the bg is a Burdekin Plum tree we've planted in our yard, as they're ideal for birds and bugs.

Found another use for our wooden knives made from spatula offcuts: scraping stubborn baked goods from trays without taking the teflon or oil seasoning along for the ride. Mmmm teflon bits = _not_ delicious!

We've made a few more of these surprisingly versatile treen, alongside many cool spatulas and such-like, for this weekend's markets.

Come and buy ethical prezzies by supporting local makers and farmers! :)

the spooky candle is a nice touch, eh?

These Lost Gods probs deserve their own post. Also a sneaky little chimera creepin in there (nerd time; gargoyles have water spouts, chimeras do not).
