Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning

Small business owners, are you aware you may be able get an additional 20% tax deduction for training costs incurred prior to 30 June 2024. There are some provisos but the main one is that the training be conducted by a registered training organisation.

I recommend you speak with your accountant. I’d also suggest if you are thinking of training for you and your staff that you sign up before the budget is released on Tuesday 14 May 2024.

See comments for the link to the ATO webpage for the small business training concessions.

We wish to express our sincere best wishes for a healthy recovery.

All the trashing of Kate Middleton on social media has been so distasteful.

So what that she didn’t quite match a hand to a jumper, we thought she was simply experimenting whilst recovering from major surgery.

It was obvious she was recovering from surgery, but now it is revealed she is now under going cancer treatment.

I hope those social media buffoons, haters and trolls hang their heads in shame and learn to reign in their negativity.

To Prince William, Kate and family our thoughts are with you.

We invited Luxury Holiday Photographer Kirstie McConnell to share her business story in the latest issue of WFO. Kirstie is the founder of Classico Portraits and lives in Italy. We asked Kirstie, why should you opt for a professional photographer, when almost everyone carries a camera in their pocket?

Kirstie writes, "In recent years, professional photoshoots during family holidays have gained remarkable popularity, and this trend is far from fleeting.

The reasoning behind it is quite simple: family holidays are all about bonding. These cherished moments are when we step away from our everyday routines, explore new horizons, and forge enduring memories as a family unit. They offer a unique opportunity to bask in quality time with our loved ones. So, when you return home from these memorable trips, what could be a more fitting way to relive these extraordinary moments than through captivating photographs?...

We invit you to continue reading Kirstie's article.

We invited Sue Karzis GAICD, CEO of NFP State School's Relief to share her journey from humble beginnings to realising her leadership potential.

Sue writes, "My journey to leadership was unplanned for, unintended and unlikely. Why, might you ask? Because I did not fit the image of leaders that I saw growing up – not even remotely. Leadership was neither a plan nor an ambition of mine. In fact, it was not even a concept that I had given any thought to.

Growing up as the daughter of Greek immigrants, I saw my parents struggle to provide for their children, so that we could have a better life. Education was key to this aspiration as they knew that if they could equip their children with a good education, they would have greater opportunities.

However, beyond attaining a good education, I didn’t feel that I had any of the qualities required to be a leader. When you grow up in a blue-collar suburb it is hard to conceive of yourself as a future leader."

We invite you to continue reading Sue's personal story, and be inspired to find your true potential.

Have you been running a side hustle? Are you ready to transition your side hustle to mainstream business?

"A side hustle typically starts as an idea fuelled by personal passion or an unmet need in the market. It's a project undertaken alongside one's regular job, often during evenings, weekends, or stolen moments of respite. What distinguishes a side hustle from a hobby is the intention to generate income and potentially turn it into a sustainable business.

The beauty of a side hustle lies in its flexibility, allowing individuals to test the waters of entrepreneurship without committing to a full-time endeavour. These endeavours are valuable not only for their potential to generate extra income but also for the sense of fulfillment they provide.

The journey from side hustle to mainstream success begins with acknowledging the latent abundance within these ventures. What might have started as a modest pursuit can evolve into a thriving business. The key is to nurture this seedling of abundance with the right blend of dedication, strategy, and a clear vision."

Continue reading this article for handy hints, tips and a strategy to transition your side hustle to mainstream.
