'The Patent Acme Stone Breaker'
Made by Goodwin & Barsby

I took measurements and photos to try ID this jaw crusher and contacted the company in the UK who built this machine.

There response was that this is the 1500 machine made and there sales records only go back to there 7000 unit which was made in 1938!

This thing would of seen some serious rock through it over its years of service and has preserved itself well for being left in its original position while the former lease owners returned back to the UK.

A nice morning "exercising" with a .5 of a gram of fine alluvial gold.

Axe injury slowed the weekends prospecting efforts but still managed to get some filming done and even brought myself home a nice take of gold.

Checking pans around the camp fire of a night.

A cold beer, Alot of laugh's and our pans full of colour - Doesn't get much better than that!

Half a gram is worth around $40 AUD not bad for a few hours digging.

Although Gold for me isn't the dollar value it's the invaluable time spent in beautiful places to find it.

Crevice: A narrow opening resulting from a split or crack.

Crevicing: Cleaning packed rock and heavy material such as gold and gem stones from the crevices or natural river made riffles.

Teaching my children to embrace and protect the paradise we live in.

It's easy to forget just how lucky we are to live on the Mid North Coast of Australia - surrounded by some of the best beaches and surfing on one side and the best camping and 4x4ing on the other.

A perfect mix where rainforest meets the coast that's packed full of history and hidden gems like this one.

Some of these shafts have been overgrown and for the most part hidden.

A reminder to be careful while making tracks through the bush these open shafts and stoped adits can be extremely dangerous.

Time to get back out tommorow to soak up some fresh air.

Spent all day with a friend walking up and down hills and down into valley's trying to locate a specific mine.

We didn't find what we where after today but we definitely found our fare share of deep shafts aswell as putting in 7km on foot.

The absolute master piece 💎

The stamper battery or stamper mill was used to crush the ore and recover gold.

The stamps where pushed up individually by a overhead cam shaft with offset lobes that lifted and dropped the stampers and crushed the ore in the mortar box before travelling down copper plates painted in mercury which would cause the gold to amalgamate.

It's a bloody shame to see it wasting away hidden in the bush it's the history of the area just going to ruin.
