The state sponsored campaign of hatred against the Bahá'ís in Iran has been on the rise in all media platforms, including radio, newspapers, television and social media. Every month, hundreds of anti-Bahá’í articles and videos are published in Iran.
This rise in hate propaganda is part of the four-decade-long, government-led effort to arouse feelings of suspicion, distrust, and hatred for the Bahá’í population of Iran. History shows that persecution can escalate to the most grievous crimes in a climate of propaganda, disinformation and hatred. Last month and in the village of Kata in the Dena district of Iran, parts of Baha'i cemeteries were destroyed by unknown individuals who ransacked the walls, mortuary and sanitation facility. The systematic destruction of Baha'i cemeteries in various cities over the past four decades in Iran by the government or with the green light of the Islamic Republic is of great concern. What threat do the dead pose? A video capturing the recent attacks can be viewed by visiting:
