Due to the unforeseen circumstances, yarn with lovely Hollie in 2XX didn’t air today.

Good news is that I’m still working on my perfection!

I apologize and looking forward to hearing in next week. This yarn it’s definitely worth waiting for ✨

Another fabulous news is that opening of ‘I AM ROSE’ exhibition at the Norman Lindsay Gallery & Museum that I have been curating is happening today and I am beyond excited to showcase the collection of portraits for which Hollie kindly sitted in my studio.

As much as like to keep the content of each issue a delightful surprise, I can’t keep it all to myself. I had the pleasure of visiting Twyllo Flower Farm and talking all things beautiful. I love sharing stories of women doing fabulous things and this yarn is one of them.

This is one of the longest yarns coming up in the next issue. What started as a simple story grew into an important legacy yarn about one man’s big life. I never take my yarns for granted and to have the opportunity to do a legacy work is a great privilege and joy. This is a story of Australia and what’s possible to accomplish during a lifetime with humility and grace.

YARNS is almost finished I couldn't be more proud. This issue number 6 dives into stories of extraordinary people and places, so magic sometimes takes its own time.

“Life isn’t meant to be lived perfectly…but merely to be LIVED. Boldly, wildly, beautifully, uncertainly, imperfectly, magically LIVED.” ― Mandy Hale

Welcome to the YARNS Radio Show. My name Petra Jungmanova and I’ll be your host bringing you yarns with unique and interesting people from the vibrant cultural landscape of the Canberra region. I’m a multidisciplinary artist and publisher who migrated from the Czech Republic over 20 years ago to find my life home in Australia. Through my own journey of discovering and learning more about Australia, I have become passionate about the land and its people who contribute massively and interestingly to preserving our unique lifestyle and cultural heritage. The idea for the YARNS Radio Show arose out of my curated seasonal online YARNS Magazine which draws on not just Australians, but interesting people and places from around the world. YARNS Magazine is part of the Cultural Heritage Collections for posterity at the National Library. I live in the South-side of Canberra with my son and our black German Shepherd, Hata. I love cooking and gardening under our large gum tree as well as adventuring down the coast and to the mountains. I’m passionate about my curatorial work at Norman Lindsay Gallery in Springwood and looking after the cultural heritage at the National Trust NSW Archives in Sydney. I’m also bringing unique Bohemian cultural events to Canberra for example at the historic Cuppacumbalong Homestead and contributing to the HelpingACT Food Bank charity.

While the latest issue is in its final beautiful stage, I’ve been busy with bringing you YARNS on a radio. The demo is done and I can’t wait to have yarns with interesting Canberrans about their migraint journeys on the 2XX community radio. Migrants have been shaping Australia for generations from building cities to salami sandwiches, food culture and late night dining with our kids. Everyone has a story ♥️
