An actor and entertainer who appeared on many TV programs, commercials and stage shows over the years - he would have turned 100 today. Born in England on this day in 1925, he passed away at the age of 90 in 2015.

Listen in at 8:20 this morning when we chat to Amber Joy Poulton, who will be performing in Man! I Feel Like A Woman next Thursday, Feb 20 at the Blue Mtns Theatre in Springwood. Amber will perform songs by Shania Twain, Olivia-Newton John, Tammy Wynette and Linda Ronstadt in a highly entertaining and interactive show!

Marianne Faithfull has passed away at the age of 78.

A statement from her spokesperson read: 'It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of the singer, songwriter and actress Marianne Faithfull. Marianne passed away peacefully in London today, in the company of her loving family. She will be dearly missed."
Marianne was best known for inspiring some of the Rolling Stones' greatest songs and dated frontman Mick Jagger for several years.

She is survived by her partner, French record producer François Ravard, and son Nicholas Dunbar.

40 Years Ago - On this day, January 28, 1985.
Music’s biggest stars (collectively dubbed “USA for Africa”) assembled at Los Angeles’ A&M Recording Studios to record “We Are the World.”
Written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie, the Grammy-winning charitable single was inspired by Band Aid’s “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” (released a month earlier to raise funds for famine relief in Ethiopia).

More than three-dozen artists took part in the epic recording session, including 21 soloists. Among them were Tina Turner, Diana Ross, Kenny Rogers, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Bruce Springsteen, and Paul Simon.
Bob Geldof, who organized “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” joined the chorus, alongside The Pointer Sisters, Bette Midler, and Harry Belafonte, among many others, while Quincy Jones served as conductor.
Between record and merch sales, as well as private donations, “We Are the World” raised more than $50 million for the humanitarian fund.
