Shhhh! 🀫 Top secret content marketing tips ahead!

Content marketing is one of the best ways to reach your target audience. Successful content marketing must engage your audience with terrific words and eye-catching graphics. Still, you also need to be able to track success with goal setting and metrics.

πŸ™ŒBefore integrating content marketing into your plan, you must first set clear and concise goals. These goals need to link to your overall business goals, as this will be how you measure ROI. Remember goals should be SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and timely). When you define these parameters, you are creating attainable goals.

πŸ™ŒNext up is consistency. There is no need to go 100 km/h if you can't maintain that speed. Instead, set your own pace and increase the frequency if and when needed.

πŸ™ŒOnce you know your goals and frequency, you must analyse the results. Simply put, track your website clicks, newsletter sign-ups, engagement and new followers on social media.

πŸ™ŒFeedback is important. Not just for improving your ROI but also for ensuring your customer journey meets their needs. Ask for feedback from your customers and peers, and be ready to pivot based on their responses.

πŸ™ŒConsistently monitoring metrics will ensure that you are on top of your ROI and delivering results-driven content marketing. Simply reporting on this is not enough; read the results and learn how you can continuously improve.

So before you hit GO on your next content marketing plan, make sure you have these things checked off. Remember, it's not all pretty pictures and entertaining words; results are in the metrics and analytics, and setting attainable goals can only help you succeed.

⚑FACT⚑ If you're not using social media to set goals in collaboration with your overall business goals, you're doing it wrong.
⁣
Every effort your brand/business makes on social media should be backed with a reason directly aligned with your business goals. ⁣
⁣
⚑️If you are currently building awareness and increasing your brand's visibility, explore Instagram Reels. We already know the algorithm loves it. ⁣
⁣
⚑️If you're in the process of positioning yourself as an expert or go-to in the field and you would like to gain your audiences' trust, use carousel posts! Carousel posts give you ten slides to position yourself as an expert. Instagram LIVES can also be explored.⁣
⁣
⚑️If you're about driving conversation and engaging with your audience, Instagram stories are perfect for this business goal. Strategic feed posts like questions, tweets and games can also deliver the same effect. ⁣
⁣
⚑️To nurture relationships, it's always a good idea to begin with, stories and eventually build up on that via the DMs. It's called "nurturing" for a reason. ⁣ Please don't just hop into someone's DM and expect a warm reception.
⁣
⚑️Lastly, utilize video content and Instagram stories to drive and track your conversions. ⁣

Let's make Monday purposeful. 😝

The secret to creating amazing content is to create it with purpose.

Every piece of content you create and post needs to have a purpose, a reason behind it. Ideally, this reason should be solving a problem or helping your target audience. 😍

And if it's not solving a problem, create content that helps you better understand your audience and gets them talking about you.

✌️ Are you trying to get more leads or build relationships? These purposes will affect the type of content you put out on Instagram.

Posting aimlessly or "going with the flow" leaves you frustrated and ultimately defeats the purpose. You get nowhere, nothing converts, and flow is non-existence.

*Cues in an effective social media strategy* to help you reach your business and social media goals!

Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need help with your social media strategy. I am only a message away. 🧑

So when did you realise that you have to consistently create with purpose?

Let's play Bingo! πŸ₯³

Have you used any of these caption hooks on your posts or reels? πŸ‘

The best way to draw your audience in is by using a super engaging first sentence. Or hook as we marketers call it. πŸ˜›

Instead of jumping straight to a call to action, draw your audience in with a statement that grabs their attention. Doing this will increase the chance of your target audience reading the whole post and actioning the ask. 🀩

So are you ready to add a hook to your captions? OR do you have any to add to this list that you find work the best? πŸ‘‡

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes! Instagram has some new features 😝

Change scares everyone, some embrace it, and others run from it. Recently, Instagram has disclosed some of the many changes coming to the app. So what can these changes mean for you? or in other words, how do you avoid a drop in engagement and freaking out?

Simply put, video is the new black. It's big, bold and at the heart of the app. 😎

I know I am preaching to the converted here when I say this, but Reels will have to be in your strategy and not just lightly; a big part of your content strategy needs to focus on video content.

And lastly, when Instagram announces changes and updates, it's best not to freak out, hide under a rock or throw out your current strategy. Adapting to change is a part of digital marketing, so get creative, sit down with someone who knows what they're doing (aka me πŸ™ŒβœŒοΈ) and talk through how you want to build and grow your audience.

What predictions do you see coming for Instagram? Share in the comments! πŸ‘‡

Imagine you're 17 again. 😁 Your whole life is in front of you. Did you have your life planned out, or did you wing it? What if you had the knowledge, you have now at 17? Then would you make a plan?

Winging it isn't the same as it was when we were 17. Unfortunately, time is not on our side, and we can't go to Uni and change our minds about what course we want to take for the 32nd time. Instead, we can set goals, make plans, work towards success, and most importantly, grow.

Instead of flying by the seat of our pants, we use the knowledge and wisdom we have gained throughout our lives to help create growth opportunities and develop strategies for success.

I often work with businesses who feel stuck, aimless, and bleh about marketing their products or services. And this usually comes from their lack of planning. They run amazing organisations and are legends at what they do, but they lack a plan. 🧐

This is why I believe a marketing strategy is imperative πŸ₯³ to every business owner, as it is the plan that helps cover all the bases; it aligns with your values, attracts your dream clients, and builds growth.

So how do you get your hands on one of these strategies? It's simple, really. Slide into my DM's or tap the link in my bio, and I can recommend the next steps for you so we can work together. πŸ™Œ

Now you'll excuse me while I daydream about being 17 again and becoming a forensic scientist. πŸ˜‰

Not feeling the traditional high you used to have when you posted on Instagram? 😬

SAVE this post for when you need a reminder to make posting feel fun!

😍Turn off your likes! One of the biggest issues with social media is comparison. Instead of feeling like you don't measure up, turn off your likes (they don't matter anyway)

😍Mute accounts. Are you sensing the theme of comparison? If an account does not leave you with feelings of joy, then mute them. Nothing sucks the fun away quicker than jealousy or comparison.

😍Do something silly in Reels or on Stories. Jumping on a Reel trend might feel frivolous, but it can be fun. It also helps relieve some of the pressure of perfectionism and makes you laugh.

😍Set your own goals. Success looks different for every person and brand; what it looks like for Joe Bloggs is different for you. Set a realistic goal that you can reach and strive for that. It might be consistency, posting more video content or engaging more accounts. Whatever it might be, decide on a goal that suits your needs.

Instagram shouldn't feel like a chore (but it certainly has its moments), so let's do our best to make it fun!

Working from home used to be a novelty until it wasn't.

For many of us, we balance time in the office with the now occasional work from home day.

During the peak of COVID-19, I didn't work from home. I travelled to the office and kept my distance just like everyone did in my building, I fought tooth and nail for a day at home, and I was successful. My work from home day became my most productive day of the week.

Then I moved to Broome, and I again worked in an office until I launched KC SOCIALS. I worked three days at the office and two days at home, starting my business from the kitchen table.

It was great, I had balance, but I also discovered that working for myself was fantastic. When I chose to work for myself full-time, I didn't consider the loneliness of being in my office every day by myself. I had never experienced it before; I was excited to dive into work and consequences be damn.

So, cue the Executive Director of Napping. Finley is my right-hand man, he naps while I work and occasionally hops up on my lap and cuddles. He is my first employee and helps keep me sane during the long days of solitude.

Working from home or by yourself isn't for everyone, but it sure can be fun when you have a pet by your side.

The 5 types of hashtags!

Following my previous post about the confusion over whether hashtags work, there is often confusion about what type of hashtags to post.

So to keep this simple, break down your hashtags like this:
πŸ™Œ Branded: Often forgotten about, but one or two simple branded hashtags that use your name, business name or handle can help make your account more discoverable.
πŸ™ŒLocation: If you are a location-based business or trying to reach a particular part of the world, include hashtags for that region.
πŸ™ŒIndustry: hashtags related to your core business or industry
πŸ™ŒPost related: Include hashtags related to your content. What are searchable keywords that your audience may search for? Put them as hashtags.
πŸ™ŒCommunity: Find out what hashtags are used more with your target audience and include those with your post.

When it comes to a hashtag strategy, research is essential and making sure you include them with every post is equally important.

Personally, I pay to use .Hashtag, but there are free tools out there and good old-fashioned searching and saving within Instagram. So, get cracking and start putting together your hashtag strategy.

OR DM me and let's chat about your social media strategy. 😍

24/05/2022

Do hashtags work? 😬

Hashtags should not be your sole strategy for Instagram, Facebook, or any other social media platform, but saying they don't work is like saying keywords don't work with Google. πŸ˜…

So, in short, yes, they do work. πŸ₯³

Post hashtags with every content piece; use 30 or use 5. The best way for your account to see results is by allowing yourself the opportunity to test the waters. So, decide on various hashtags (I will do a separate post on hashtag types) and post them at the bottom of the caption, and use 3, 5, or 30 and see what drives better results.

Let me know by sliding into my DM's, which gives you the best outcomes! ☺️

I took three weeks off posting content 😱, it was intentional, and no one questioned my absence. Instead, the above photo was captured and isn't it glorious. 😍

Taking three weeks off was intentional, kind of. I intended to write, but the inspiration wasn't there. πŸ™ƒ Instead, I was busy working on the client-side of the business and having fun with my friends at a fabulous wedding. πŸ₯³

So I am back, and I have a whole line-up of content that will hopefully inspire you to keep pushing through the trenches of social media.

Because you are not alone and social media is hard work, let's not deny that. Creating content can suck. So, I am here to help make that burden a little easier. πŸ™Œ

Do you find yourself forgetting to add a Call To Action? Well, I am here to help. *SAVE THIS POST FOR LATER* πŸ™Œ

Call To Actions (CTA's) are the primo piece of content you need to add to every part of the content you post. Whether it is in an e-newsletter, a social media post or a blog. You ask your audience to do something for you by adding a CTA. That might be buying something from you or simply saving this post for later. (See what I did in the first line?) πŸ˜‰

There are lots of CTA's you can use, and often they are going to involve promoting your product or services as a purchase. At the end of the day, we are here to make a living, so we need to be comfortable with selling. πŸ™ƒ

CTA's can be about increasing views on your post. *Your audience sharing your content.

Or it can be about increasing the longevity of your posts. *Your audience saving your content for later.

And sometimes, it is about increasing the traffic to your website to educate your audience on what you do and how that benefits your target audience.

SWIPE across to see some simple CTA's with examples. πŸ‘‰

Let me know in the comments other CTA's you use or slide into my DM's with examples!

This graph outlines the key ways to grow your account and be successful.

1️⃣ Define your audience. πŸŽ‰

A well-defined audience will provide you with clarity.

Once you know who your audience is and their most significant problems, you'll be able to make content that resonates with them. It is a crucial step.

2️⃣ High-quality content 😎

Your content will attract a particular type of person. Creating low-quality content will not appeal to your target audience. Curate content that attracts your dream client through tone of voice, images, video content, responsiveness and engagement.

3️⃣ Growth strategy 🀩

At this point, you have your content ready; you know your audience, so NOW you need to get in front of as many people as possible. Otherwise, your efforts are wasted.

This step is all about planning and ex*****on. Here you will work out, what your content calendar will look like, the frequency of your posts and how much time is dedicated to social media and development.

When you mix the three steps together, you hit the sweet spot, and this quote by , I think, summarises what you can achieve.

"Finding the right people with the right content and the proper distribution strategy is the proven blueprint for a successful Instagram account that an audience loves and that generates leads and customers for the owner".

So, what do you think of this graph? Can we make it even better? Tell me in the comments. πŸ‘‡

So today we celebrate him! πŸ₯³πŸŽ‰

Hopefully, more adventure and fun! 🀩

It's time to play MYTHBUSTERS! 😎 Does editing your content after you post harm your engagement?

The short answer is NO. It does not harm your engagement.

Why would Instagram allow you to do something and then punish you for doing it?!

😝 It makes no sense, right?

So firstly, this myth is BUSTED! You absolutely can edit your captions without repercussions or any harm to your engagement.

πŸ™Œ So go ahead and edit those typos, correct the grammar, and fix any mistakes you see after your post is published. I promise you, you will not be punished for editing!

A word of encouragement for those of you who are feeling like this:

πŸ’ No one is seeing your content
πŸ’ Your business from Instagram is slowing down
πŸ’ Hashtag impressions are scarce
πŸ’ Growing on social media is an uphill battle
πŸ’ The focus on Reels has zapped your creativity
πŸ’ You never make the Explore page
πŸ’ You'd be better off without Instagram
πŸ’ You're just not getting out what you're putting in

YOU ARE NOT ALONE

But I want you to connect with a few things…

🀩 You are connecting with people (even if it's less than usual)
🀩 Your business can be shared on any platform and find communities elsewhere! (social media is so much broader than just Instagram and Facebook)
🀩 Explore and experiment with new content creation (videos, stories, graphics - it can't hurt, right?)
🀩 Think about the people in your community who would miss your content if you stopped!
🀩 Your reach and engagement do not reflect you as a person… (say it again but louder)

Now take a breath, let it go and enjoy the long weekend! Happy Easter! πŸ‡πŸ₯

Everyone has unpopular opinions on Instagram, and these are mine. 😝

πŸ‘‰Build your content on a strategy and not based on trends. Trends and fads don't last; instead, build a content strategy that will help you reach your desired community and target audience, giving you longevity.
πŸ‘‰Instagram has come out and said use 3 to 5 hashtags, but I say use 30 and put them in the caption. They won't harm your content at the end of the day, and they will help your reach.
πŸ‘‰You don't need to be on every platform. It's okay to cross share and focus on a singular platform like Instagram.
πŸ‘‰Engaging with similar accounts isn't an engagement hack. It should be part of your engagement strategy to help build up industry relationships and connections.
πŸ‘‰Sharing your feed posts to stories is essential for engagement because some users do not look at their feed and miss these posts. We want all the eyes we can get, so share where you can.
πŸ‘‰It doesn't matter how many followers you have; valuable content should ALWAYS be the aim. Posting content that doesn't relate to your business or niche to gain followers will only result in you losing engagement in the long run. Not worth it!

So do you agree or disagree with my opinions?! tell me in the comments! πŸ™Œ
