Introducing Mel Lukin ✨

We welcomed Mel to our Dandelion Media roster back in January and we are so excited to see what 2023 holds!

Queensland singer-songwriter Mel Lukin is making 2023 her year with new music, new branding and plenty of positive vibes. After a year of creative soul-searching, songwriting and collaborating, Mel has emerged with her new single, One Way Ticket, and there’s no turning back.

Having lived in Fiji, the Philippines, and other island nations, the Gold Coast artist has a love for the tropics, and her brand of contemporary country music blends with a relaxed, chilled and ‘beachy’ vibe.

Music has been Mel’s life from training as a dancer and a singer, performing on cruise ships and stages across the world, to finding her home in Contemporary-Country with her stunning vocals and positive messages to share. You can hear the influences of Martina McBride, Trisha Yearwood, The Chicks, and Faith Hill throughout her releases.

One Way Ticket is a re-launch of sorts for Mel, but she’s no stranger to the music world, having recorded her first EP, ‘First Breath’ in 2007, with award-winning producer Stuart Stuart. In 2020 Mel released her debut single “On the Water” which was the feature song of HBE US TV series, “Almost Paradise” and in 2021 her song ‘Caught up in a Dream’ featured on sales and radio charts. The music video for Caught up in a Dream also featured on Foxtel’s CMT.

“There have been several beautifully upbeat country pop songs released this year – perhaps as an antidote to 2020 – and this is one of the best, due to Lukin’s skill as a singer as well as the construction of the song.” - Sunburnt Country Festival and concert-goers are lapping up Mel’s vocal prowess and storytelling songs with strong messages and she featured on the lineup for ‘Country on Keppel 2021’ alongside, Brad Butcher, Matt Cornell and James Blundell.

Meet Chandler Jay 🎉

Hailing from Brisbane is emerging Pop Music Artist, Chandler Jay. Already with seven singles behind him, ‘I’m Original’ (awarded highly commended in the schools section of the 2018 Queensland Music Awards), ‘My Own Personal Pain’, ‘Party In The House’, ‘Meant To Be’, 'You'll Be Mine', 'Glitter In Her Eyes' and his most recent single, 'You Always Told Me', the young Singer-Songwriter continues to bring his stories to life through music.

Drawing musical inspiration from his idols including Elton John, Prince, Guy Sebastian, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran, Charlie Puth, Maisie Peters and Delta Goodrem. Chandler’s unique vocal tones and piano skillset have been compared to that of Tim Freedman from The Whitlams.

Meet Cassi Marie 🎉

Cassi’s strong work ethic and bubbly personality has seen her tick things off her bucket list that artists can only dream of, and she still has many years ahead of her.

After winning the Gympie Muster Talent Search at just 12 years of age, Cassi knew she was destined for the big stage, and has worked tirelessly over the past 12 years to establish herself as an artist in her own right. Cassi has penned hundreds of songs over the years, and in 2019 released her 5th EP 'Pieces Of My Heart' recorded by the legendary Bill Chambers, which debuted at #2 on the Australian Country itunes Chart. More recently, releasing singles such as 'Walls', 'Burn' and ‘Starving Heart’ Cassi is ever evolving in both her songwriting and musicianship, playing several instruments on her recordings.

Since 2020, Cassi has also been working with fellow musicians in bands such as The English Rain and The Kindly Ravens, lending her voice and songwriting to create beautiful tracks such as 'Silver & Gold' and 'Everywhere I Go.'

Introducing Open Season Band 🪕

Open Season might be a 25-hour flight from country music's Tennessee heartland, but they certainly don't sound it.

Marrying traditional folk and modern country in a way akin to genre heavyweights, Old Crow Medicine Show and Zac Brown Band, this unassuming Brisbane-based six-piece represent the exciting new wave of country folk music.

Comprising members whose previous projects have had them touring extensively both domestically and internationally – including with country music royalty, Jett Williams – Open Season is certainly a band to look out for.

Half rock, half country, half soul/something else - 150% of Lee Griffin is a born and bred Australian singer/songwriter, who has devoted years to honing his craft on stages and in studios all over the world — including a five-year stint based in Music City, Nashville TN.

After a short hiatus to focus on other projects, including producing David Schaak’s acclaimed debut record “Meet My Ghosts”, Lee is now back at work on his original music - with new music due to be released from mid-2022, set to coincide with appearances at the Gympie Music Muster.

His albums ‘Plums’ and ‘Luminance’ with his band The Triple B have seen local, national, and international airplay, and featured singles including ‘Ride On’ & ‘Bad Ideas’. More-recent releases include single ‘Hoping For Too Much’ and three-track one-take wonder ’Live at Recordworks’.

Despite his studio output, Lee really lives for performing live. He prides himself on the fact no two shows are ever the same — blending spontaneous and captivating energy.

His influences are wide-reaching — being everything from Bruce Springsteen to John Prine, Tim Rogers to Tom Petty, Bonnie Raitt to Kathleen Edwards, and Shihad to Sloan to Crowded House and Aerosmith.

Beyond music, he loves film, food, and travel. “The more you live, the more likely a song. The more you turn over the soil, the better the yield.”
